@snogglethorpe: If they hold a strict view on what is acceptable on their platforms, then yes, it won't split the community. But if they don't, over time there will also be gameplay differences. Not just cosmetic graphics ones.
@Kjranu: Initially yes but not in the long term. Games may run on both systems for sure. But development will be focused on the higher end model. Eventually you'll find a situation where even gameplay features are affected on the lower end system, not just graphics. Look what happened with GTA V and Shadow of Mordor on the old gen. The gameplay features were toned down because of memory limitations. Eventually after a few years it'll happen between the PS4 and the PS4 4K as well.

@alaskancrab: You can also buy steam codes outside of the steam store on other retail sites. Those numbers aren't included here. I buy most of my steam games on other websites as do many other people.
