Since I'm seeing this in every thread concerning PS4 and PC and am relatively sure I'm losing IQ points over reading posts from people who have absolutely zero idea what DDR or GDDR is, let me enlighten you.
PCs use DDR (Double Data Rate); currently DDR3. GPUs in PCs use GDDR (Graphics Double Data Rate); currently DDR5.Â
PS4 will use GDDR in place of DDR.Â
GDDR5 is BASED on DDR3. GDDR5 =/= DDR5. We will not see DDR5 for a few years as even DD4 is not mainstream. The FIRST CPU to support DD4 (Haswell) will be released this year.
Now, as far as people claiming PS4 being ahead of the PC because of GDDR5, it is laughable at best. Allow me to offer some perspective.
PCs have been using DDR3 since 2007. GDDR5, which again, is BASEDÂ on DDR3, since 2008. That makes PS4 5 years late to the party by the time it comes out.

Good stuff, thanks for the clarification.
I do have some contstructive criticism however (because this wouldn't be SW if there was no cynicism-even if it is well ment-)
Perhaps when posting a source, instead of linking directly to Wiki, use Wiki as a jumping off point to find the actual source. Perhaps this link, source #1 from your Wiki DDR3 link.
If I was writing a scientific paper for my university, I would have used primary sources. You are correct though, I just was lazy and decided to save a minute :P

...... why?

Ummm...read again??? I explained why.
I said why, cause you would miss out on a bunch of great games, that are exclusive to consoles
Let's be honest here. NO ONE has time to play EVERY good game for EVERY system. Yes, I miss out on a few good games, but its nothing I can't get out of other games which are just as good if not better. I miss out on God of War, Halo, Uncharted, Gears of War, 300 different Marios but if I were to play all of these, I wouldn't have time for others. I chose to enjoy the best gaming experience possible, in the best way possible.

You still need a $1000 High End PC to outperform ps4 though;)

I would personally spend more than $1000 on my PC, and I have. Instead of wasting my money on crappy consoles, $600 for PS3, $400 for 360, $250 on Wii, I instead used half that money and built my PC in addtion to my PC budget. Plays more than any amount of games I would ever want to play, plus does everything I ever need as far as entertainment, work, school go.

I thought it was pretty much clear on systemwars :?

Was this needed?MonsieurX
Read any thread that has to do with PC and/or PS4 and you'll see that it apparently isn't common knowledge so yes, this was needed.

Well, yes. At least as far as graphics are concerned. I fail to see your point though since PCs have had BOTH since 2008.
Angry Birds 20 ? Jesus....I guess It had a extreme impact but My hate for it blinds me !

Not to mention it was a complete ripoff of a game called Fragger.
[QUOTE="clyde46"]Its 2013, if you aren't using a 64bit OS then you are doing it wrong. Mr_BillGatesIf you're still using desktops in 2013, you are doing it wrong.
