EmperorSupreme

The new 360s are a lot better and this summer the 65nm is out so you can say no more RROD.

Lemmings said the same thing about the Elite, then the Halo edition, then the Falcon, now it's next summer. Any proof to that or are you just trying to mislead people?

Let's be honest here; this problem isn't going away. I dont understand the blind optimism that the next shipment of 360s will see the RROD issue gone forever. It's been two years. It's a design fault obviously, which cannot be rectified without a wholesale redesign of the 360 itself. It isn't going away any time soon.

Is that a really popular website in Ireland? I mean is Next gen Ireland for Ireland as Gamespot/IGN are for US, or as jeuxvideo/playfrance are for france?haris12121212

Judging by the editor's contact details being his hotmail account, and the fact that many of their banners and buttons are made in MS Paint, i'd have to guess no.

RROD is rediculous. But at the very least i can say that microsoft customer service is great about it. You ring them, you tell you have the RROD and straight away BAM - what's your address please? We're sending you a box. Notice how they chose not to say what the "it's more complicated" actually entails?

Far as i'm concerned this is sensationalist nonsense intended to garner up a bit of traffic. Good luck to them.

EDIT: having just seen the number of logos and images on their site created in MS paint, i'd just like to reiterate how little anybody cares about this. :P

Pariah_001

Denial. Not just a river in Egypt.

Please make an actual point and explain to me what i am in "denial" about seeing as i already said the RROD problem is rediculous and even made a thread earlier on microsoft's pathetic build quality.

But i have the gall to make a reasonable, balanced arguement and say the guys on this site are being unreasonable and dont deserve the media attention they're obviously trying to garner from this?

Again; explain.

The florida bar asks him to explain his numerous frivolous lawsuits and their purpose, lest he be banned from filing more suits with their courtroom, and his response is to take it to the federal court and deconstrutc the florida court? How did he ever manage to become a lawyer in the first place with logic like this?

I just want the movement to be fixed. Everyone moves like a tank. I know they're big dudes, but come on...SolidSnake35

Even though the game isn't remotely aimed at realism, that is in fairness how a soldier realistically moves. You're weighed down by so much armour and gear, you're going to slug it along at a consistant, steady pace. Gears wouldn't feel the same if you were sprinting around at full speed like Dante.

"The achievements are mine to unlock" = flat out wrong. Ranked matches with friends is a horrible idea. You cant trust people to not cheat in these situations, and getting together in a room to simply cheat your way through the achievements undermines the entire point of setting these challenges in the first place.

I agree with hosted games however. I also think that if i snipe a guy while he's performing a curb stomp animation; surely the guy he was going to stomp should live? I mean as it is obviousl you cant kill a guy curb stomping. The animation has to finish and then you can inflict damage again. I think you should be able to shoot, and kill, a curb stomped however before they make contact on the player's head.

Get rid of active-reload sniper rifle. No weapon on any game should be a one-shot, from-the-hip, huge-reticule, insta-death gun regardless of where you're hit. Just wrong.

I am sure all the games with $15 million+ budgets will continue to enjoy your business then:)

I think you are looking too narrowly at the idea of XNA and Steamworks.

wiganath

Credit to the guys making them, it's better than anything i could make. However, the games general look pretty poor and aren't particularly great to play.

As cool as it is that they are Indie, it doesn't change the fact that the games are kind of average if not poor. If they had made something that played or looked like Puzzlequest, i would think that they were awesome, but they haven't they've made basic little things you find on flash sites. It all seems kind of basic, but it is early days, who knows how it will progress. However, if those are the games that showcase the talent, then i doubt it will be for me.

Have you actually seen any of the XNA games? Some of them are absolutely fantastic. Dishwasher was both hilarious and incredibly fun. And there are some beautiful art **** being used. I wouldn't compare them flash games at all - and of course dont forget, these games were entered into a contest wherein applicants had just four months to create and submit a finished game.

Is system wars really at the level whereby people are now just bashing everything and anything for the very sake of it? You have a simple attempt to grow the market through user-created content; and look at the sheer number of people ready and waiting to tell you how garbage it is.

It's honestly as if some people here want gaming to simply collapse.

I said I wasnt going to post here anymore, but since your having so much fun telling everyone I'm running from "inevitable annihilation" from a (of all things) system wars thread, I'll stay awhile. Ya know what? I would like to apologize for calling you a fanboy, seriously. I dont know anything about you, and I surely shouldnt have jumped to conclusions. So, I'll skip taking my "precious 360 comment" to the fanboy corner and instead just take it back completely. I know how annoying that can be, so all apologies. It does bother me that a simple thread gets turned into something political, and for assuming it was fanboyism I was wrong. So, I just wanted to say that.

carljohnson3456

At least you have the common respect to do that. It's incredibly rare around here; people taking things back, admitting fault, accepting another point of view, or even admitting defeat in what is often overwhelming evidence of being incorrect.

Thank you very much for the brief flash of simple decency on a forum ruled by fanboyism and troll threads. :)

well seeing as I made the comment and I know exactly what I meant by it, I'm pretty sure I can say your wrong in your assumptions. lack of logic FTL...ninjaxams

You said xbox live customer service was a joke because the phone was answered by an indian person. I pointed out to you a linguistic study titled "the rise of petty racism" which included your very comments as one, of many, examples. That people will complain about customer service far, far more than usual if the phone is operated by a foreigner. The overwhelming majority of the time, the instructions given are perfectly clear, or at the very least, require you to at least pay a little more attention than you normally would. The chances of you being connected to a person who cannot speak english well enough to communicate with you are miniscule, and generally equal to the chances of you being connected to an english-speaker who is just as incompetant at instructing you appropriatelt. Those are all facts. Not opinions.

So, if your first attempt at an arguement here is going to be "lack of logic FTL" can we at least point out the blatantly obvious; that here we have a great deal of logic behind my post. As opposed to your offerings of "FTL", "i know what i mean" and "you cant understand the indian people".

EDIT: and in closing; you say you know what you meant by your comments, implying that we misinterpreted. It seemed to me like you said their customer service was a joke, citing the fact that it is operated by indian people (which in iself is factually incorrect) and you cant understand what the say. That's exactly what you said however. So basically you're saying that you refuse to tolerate speaking to a foreigner with an accent? If not, please enlighten me with exactly what you meant.
