If only to buy the rights to the games I'd say it's a good investment. Nintendo makes a AAA game in basically every genre Rare made on the N64. With Nintendo's help they could continue the Rare series of games, and start pumping out AAA game after AAA game.

I would lol if Sony said "Screw it, we're focusing on the PS2 again!" and gives up support on the PS3. That would never happen, but I would laugh all day as system wars exploded.

Meh, they could have probably not ever released the PS3, and still competed with the PS2. Do game stores still support the PS2? Like, do they actually have shelves with new releases, and stuff, or are they slowly getting smaller? I might like a PS2 considering the games would be cheap if they're still available.

I assume that the PSP 4000 would be the PSP2, and if you're unsure about whether you should buy a DSi or wait for that then I'd just say hold on and wait to see what Sony unveils.
