I own the three Atelier games for the ps3 and while they tend to be overly cutesy and pretty heavy on the anime troupes, they're very fun to just relax and play. The combat is serviceable and the crafting is easy and intuitive. This game will probably be more of the same, and I'm cool with that. They're sort of like my guilty pleasure games.
If anyone reading this is interested in the series, Atelier Rorona, Totori, and Meruru all take place in the same world with most of the characters crossing over from the previous game(s). This game (I think) is completely separate in terms of characters and story. Oh, and the stories are all pretty simple and focus more around the characters than they do grandiose sweeping narratives about saving the world and destroying god. Hell, the first game's plot was "save your alchemy shop from being shutdown". That's it. But they're a nice change of pace.
@IBEX333 @Cmgsccc Who me? I have one more year until I have my master's in English Writing and I have a minor in Journalism. Just because he has a degree doesn't make him God's gift to humanity. And it certainly doesn't excuse the egotistical spunk this guy's spewing.
I'm definitely diggin this. I've never been an action game fan but I'm a long time MGS fan. Honestly, I'm glad they're going in a new direction. Come on, who didn't want to do this crazy s*** in MGS4 when you saw Raiden going up against Vamp.
