I'm ok with this. I've loved Grasshopper games since Killer 7, but Travis Strikes Again and NMH3 did feel like they were limited by a lack of budget. Back when Grasshopper partnered with EA for Shadows of the Damned and Kadokawa for Lollipop Chainsaw and Killer is Dead, those games still felt distinctively Suda, but also had the semblance of a AAA game. So as long as NetEase doesn't meddle with the Grasshopper's vision, I think this is a positive.

Nice list. Also, thanks for representing a variety of different genres. I'd strongly recommend Journey and What Remains of Edith Finch. Both are amazing experiences. If you want something that's more challenging, Hotline Miami and Hollow Knight are fantastic.

Someone already mentioned that a lot of these games are pretty well known, which is true, but I feel like people still sit on indie games and only play AAA stuff, which is kinda sad. So hopefully someone like that see's this and gives some of these games a chance.

Lol, that was a fun read. Someone already mentioned Monster which I would second. I consider myself a pretty light anime fan, usually watching some of the more popular stuff, and yeah, there's a lot of trashy, super horny anime out there and it can be difficult to sift through all the grime.

I would recommend giving Trigun a go. 90's anime that may not be super flashy or have the highest production values, but it has some great characters. Some of the obvious ones, Cowboy Beboop, Full Metal Alchemist, Neon Genesis Evangelion, Berserk. And maybe Gankutsuou (which is just a strange anime adaptation of The Count of Monte Cristo) or Baccano! might appeal to you. I personally struggle committing to anime's that span countless seasons and hundreds of episodes, so most of the ones I listed wrap up fairly quickly. Anyways, hopefully you find some more anime's you'll enjoy; there are some goods one out there!

I sunk so many hours into Destiny and Destiny 2, but I knew the writing was on the wall when they split with Activision. I remember early on in D2 that you could just earn most of the Eververse stuff by simply grinding out levels for the season. But as soon as it went F2P, they hid all that stuff behind a paywall. There was no way to actually earn it in game. I'm down to pay for new content updates, like Taken King, or Rise of Iron back in the original Destiny, but they completely lost me when they started doing paid seasons, tons of microtransactions... and now this transmog system? Glad I left years ago.

Great article! I was just thinking about this topic a couple days ago. Having played Overwatch, LoL, and Rocket League with a small group of friends over the past few years, all of us have been prone to gamer rage at one point or another. We blame our teammates, "alleged" cheaters, and the dreaded lag. We still have fun, but it can be toxic at times. Picking this game up and playing it over the past week has been such a sea change from other multiplayer games. I hardly ever find myself getting mad at anything in Fall Guys; even the dreaded team games are fine in my book.

I saw this two days ago at the theater listed for Sterling Heights, MI. Pretty great movie actually. The action scenes were spectacular. It's a decent film on its own right, but if you're planning on picking up FFXV, I'd definitely suggest watching this at some point before you jump into the game.

@kazeswen: From what I've seen on this site, Alexa is one of the few staff members who actually enjoys JRPGs. Hell, she hosts the Airship podcast that focuses solely on JRPG's. You should hear her fangirl out over FFXV. :p The reviews for SO5 in Japan are also pretty abysmal so maybe... just maybe, it's actually a pretty mediocore/bad game.

@xxxorcist: Is it really $10 for the all 5 episodes right now? Definitely pick it up it. Probably my favorite game of 2015.
