Several reasons come to mind:

1) Activision tend to follow the "rinse and repeat" formula, which means that they don't really change much. This is true for several other franchises and I'm not to happy with those either.

2) MW3 specifically nicked its "changes" from other games this year (Dog tags and unlocking through weapon kills are blatantly taken from Crysis 2 for example.)

3) Graphics engine is the same one they've been using since day one.

4) The company is a prime example of capitalist ideology gone to the extreme. (15 dollar map packs....!?)

Umm it doesn't matter how short it is, it shouldn't be there, we didn't need it for the last 5 years why now.

I agree, they should have made us check or agree that we've seen the health warning. We've all seen it before, I don't need to see it 500 more times.

THIS^^^ my point exactely, it serves no purpose therefore it shouldn't be there.. whens the last time u heard of someone dying from playing videogames???

If I'm not mistaken, a 25 year old died last month from deep vein thrombosis (causes a blood clot in your thigh) because he sat for too long on the chair in front of his console and didn't heed the 15 minute break advice.

I loved the game.....It did a great job of combining the best elements of GOW and Shadow of the colossus plus it added the dark, gothic Castlevania feel. Lets also not forget the well written plot and the amazing voice acting (you can't go wrong with Carlyle and Stewart). Honestly, the game was treated to harshly by most reviewers....so what if it used elements fro award-winning games? COD constantly just repeats itself and nicks things from other games (dogtags in MW3?....sounds a bit like BF3 and Crysis 2) but it still gets ratings above 8.5. Castlevania is a great game and I advise everyone play it (especially now it's really cheap :D

First mate, I am not surprised at all that you are the first person to post :) Second, not everybody has these glitches. Third, the point of this thread is to help people who are having problems, not to complain about the game which their are many threads about (one of which was started by you I believe.)

Okay guys, from my many years playing Bethesda games (that's all of them since the company started) I have summarized what you can do to help minimize issues in Skyrim. Here we go:

1) Make sure you have a lot of free disk space.

2) Don't have Autosave "on" for everything.

3) Don't make too many saved games because their games seem to go a bit wonky when you have many.

4) During extended play (3-4 hours) turn the machine off for a while then start again. This allows the cache to dump data and gives the fans and harddisk a break.

5) If you're playing on a modded system....well....shame on you and this may be causing problems in itself.

If anyone has anything else to add then please do so. I've been following this since I started, I'm 80 hours into the game and had almost no noticable issues.

Hope it works for you :)

I started a thread for this question but hardly anyone answered, so here we go again. What kind of PS3 (fatty or slim) are you playing Skyrim on? I ask this because it seems odd that a large number of people are complaining about a large number of problems and an equal number of players seem to have very few or none (and not all of them can be fanboys...this is for you Shang Tsung17). If it is system related then someone can contact Bethesda and tell them that fattys are having problems. If this is not what affects whether you have bugs or not then...well...what can you do?

Being a big TES fan, I've been reading all the posts regarding Skyrim and noticed that some people are complaining of a whole plethora of glitches and bugs, while others (like me luckily) seem to have no problems or very few. I was wondering if this is related to the model of PS3 you play on. Maybe a fatty has more problems than a slim? Any ideas guys?

I'd just like to say that I know how frustrating glitches and bugs can be (have been through tons over 24 years of gaming) but anything new is going to have problems if you are pushing the boundaries of what a product is capable of. This is true for almost any product....look at BMW, for example. When they revamped their 7 series cars in the 90s, their was a catastrophic "glitch" which caused your gas tank to explode if you were hit hard from behind. The concept of products having defects or problems is not game-industry specific, but includes all consumer products that are changing or new. And of course, if you are unhappy with a product, you can enforce your right as a consumer to complain to a company and/or not purchase their products. Which, come to think of it, would be more constructive than just complaining to others.

I am curious about whether the majority of people here are using fat PS3s or slims? but on another note, to help with minimizing any glitches, make sure you turn off Autosave and have alot of harddisk space available. Bethesda games seem to generally work better doing that. Also, take a break every two hours or so if it's getting bad, turn off the machine and let the cache empty out. Memory limitations are usually an issue.
