TC points out why I'm so glad to have a mind of my own so I do not have to care what Critics think.

I have a hard time even imagining choosing what I like based on what critics think. Life must be kinda boring living through other people's opinions.

Yep. And the critics are just opinions, that a lot of times don't align with players. This happens for movies too. Look at rotten tomatoes and you can see critical successes where the user reviews are in the 20-30% range., polar opposites and it goes vice versa too. This happens with games a lot to.

Personally there have been too many reviews that don't jive with my thoughts on a game. Case in point, I loved Obsidian's Alpha Protocol last gen. Reviewers all gave it 60% scores. I also liked Technomancer this gen that got panned by critics. People have different opinions and that's fine.

What I don't like is the reviewers who base off ideology or agenda. You have critics belonging to an west coast echo chamber where they push ideology and agenda in their reviews and will review something not because of how good a game is but will ding it for not pushing whatever social agenda the verified twitter pussy hat mob and technocrats are reeeeeing against that day.

i'm so starved for decent fps campaigns that i'd consider anything at this point. maybe cod will return to sp, maybe battlefield will finally produce a good campaign. i'm an eternal optimist

Not with EA it won't. Instead of admitting to low sales down to focusing on microtransactions, insulting the fanbase by calling people uneducated because fans called them out for not being historically accurate and having women and katana front line fighters with garish face paint and prosthetics. EA went and called fans uneducated and said don't like it don't buy it. Now after the dust settled. EA says the low sales were because they added a single player campaign. WTF... EA are the worst. No it couldn't be that you insulted your fans and insulted history? Oh and they gave that executive who left after insulting people a 40 million dollar bonus.

I bought Cod WW2 and loved it, as COD1, 2 and World@War were my favorites. The boots on the ground I love in those games. The single player isn't cod2/waw level though. Those games especially cod2 were built for single player as well. Multiplayer is damn fun on WW2 and my son still prefers zombies mode on it to blops 4.

I personally can't stand blops. I liked MW1&2 and hated all the new games with special characters. I don't want to play super hero cod. Just give some class loadouts and generic soldiers. Enough with the microtransacatons and bullshit neon garish crap. That's what was great about ww2 near launch (that may have changed, haven't played in a while) there was no weed graphics on the rifles or purple hair or anything crazy like that. Sure they didn't make multiplayer historically accurate, but it at least matched theme and wasn't distracting. They didn't inject British ladies with prosthetics and Kanata wielding people like we seen with BF5 (I love battlefield but stopped after bf1. Battlefield 3 and bad company 2 were the best in my opinion).

@uninspiredcup: I don't trust and wont' support a company that wants to shut user reviews out. They are pro-censorship. Also they are pro micro-transaction.

I like steam because they don't censor, and that makes the harpy sjw san fransiscoites seethe with rage. My only complaint with Valve, and it is a big one... Half-life 3, come on already!

Releasing and underpowered console with no backwards compatibility is about the only way they will **** this up. Hopefully it doesn't happen.

Yep, that backwards compatibility with PS4 is key. As long as it has that and a few exclusives, plus a competitive price they will be fine.

Damn, the hate for Sony is pathetic. Your favourite brand is such a failure you try and find dirt on their competitor.

Fake news! So much wrong with this article and bad facts that others have already pointed out.

Welcome to modern "Journalism". After two weeks of fake stories and bullshit from msm, do you expect games and other industry journalism to have any ethics anymore? Sad state for sure.

Is it just me or are they consistently releasing flops? I noticed this is both commercially and critically. I feel they are another developer that might go bankrupt, but my biggest questions is, considering Borderlands 2 sold over 13 million units - one of the biggest selling games last gen...

Why the hell don't they just release the third? I feel like it's the companies only saving grace. With a lot of similar games coming out, I fear that it'll be a little too late.

They got greedy and chased the "moba" market, like blizzard did with heroes of the storm and overwatch, and made a always online game called battleborn instead of doing what they should of done, which is make what they are good at and what people want.

Borderlands 3. Offline , online optional loot shooter, without microtransactions. I love being able to play a shooter single player with different classes and diablo style loot drops. Some people don't like that, as noted on this post, but there are other games for those people if they don't like stats, as borderlands is basically diablo in 1st person with guns.

and a new Brothers in arms game. I loved those too, Hell's highway was so underrated.

I thought Microsoft was helping with the funding.

They were until the usual crowd of ultra sensitive witch hunting twitter blue checkmarks got their panties in a bunch and backlashed on him for his twitters against radical weirdos and ultra far left loony toons:

with this:

". A few years ago, Soret (again, on Twitter) described his new game as a warning against “extreme progressivism,” portraying a dark world where “modern feminism won, instead of egalitarianism.”

or this:

"I find it interesting to show the danger of extreme progressivism, in the background of the game, the characters, and the story. Finally, we’ll have another take on the cyberpunk oppression instead of Big Brother/1984/HAL/big companies. What if the surveillance, bullying, marginalization won’t come from governments but from the Internet?"

Microsoft cut ties after backlash from insane activists.

Can't be against the "Politically correct" narrative and the blue checkmark mob of twitter inquisitors.

They labeled him a heretic. Like they so often the intersectional intolerant pearl clutchers are oft to do.

Honestly his plot is exactly that dystopian appointed ministry of truth thought police mobs, that are so active today.

It's a shame these companies give in.

This same mob is going after Louis CK right now for comedy.

@mrbojangles25: Some of the people who hate valve and hate user reviews probably hate valve for not censoring the games on the store. I remember a few months ago, idiots complaining that valve wouldn't censor what it sells. It pisses me off as a pro freedom, pro consumer , wanting the most info, and I think censorship of games, art, or ideas or reviews is wrong, full stop.

Review bombing is bad. Gamers not even playing the game and they bombard it with bad reviews to hurt the company.

It's juvenile and should be stopped.

Yes lets be authoritarians and censors and quash all dissent that we disagree with. /s That is madness. Sorry but user reviews bring things up that shill mainstream media will never touch, as their early access is on the line.
