[QUOTE="Laihendi"] In 2009 the top 1% of income earners made 16.9% of the total income for the country but paid 36.7% of all income taxes. They obviously have a greater burden. bookwormwizard
and yet the pay a lower percentage of their income in total taxes than the middle class.
well there are two ways to solve this problem. You can raise the taxes on the rich, or you can lower the taxes on the middle class so that the rich really are paying more. I hear alot of people for the first one, not much for the second. I like the second option though, it puts more money directly into the hands of the middle class and it forces the goverment to cut back a little in spending. Sounds good to me.
The second option is what happened with the fiscal cliff deal...........[QUOTE="turtlethetaffer"]I don't think the prequels are really as terrible as many people make them out to be.nekrothing
Everything you just said became invalid in an instant. There are people who think Dragonball Evolution is a good movie, but that doesn't mean that it is. Similarly, the Prequel trilogy is terrible even though you think that it isn't.
From the responses so far, nostalgia does seem to be the number one factor when it comes to Star Wars. The movies are lackluster, this much is certain. As far as the Expanded Universe is concerned, it's an incoherent mess that contradicts itself constantly.
By this logic, your op is just as invalid........The people on welfare looking for work are not counted in the unemployment numbers. These single digit numbers are generous so gauging the health of the economy by them is not accurate. Looking at the government is though. The government says they are going to go through cuts. Yeah, I wish. But the word cut has a different meaning for them than you or me. To them it means reduce in spending. To us it means stop spending. The government is going to spend until the dollar is worthless. Gas prices aren't going up. The value of the dollar is going down. Inflation. Printing. Instead of spending what they did in 2012 they will spend a little bit less.[QUOTE="ferrari2001"]
The underemployment has remained fairly steady over the last year. Many people have simply given up looking for work which helped push the unemployment rate down quite a bit. The economy has improved slightly but with the recent massive rise in gas prices and government cuts looming chances our economy will still be in the **** for a long while still.

Government employment has been declining, so there have been cuts....... Further U-6 unemployment (a broader measure), while still high, is trending downWhat are these jobs, four hours a week? Business are cutting hours of full time employees to get out of not paying their insurance. This job growth is fake. The president teaches his children a very important lesson. A lesson of sharing. If you have full time work you need to cut that in half and share your hours with someone else. Boom job growth. Hey. Maybe they will reduce the hours of full time from 40 to 20, plus raise the minimum wage! Wouldn't that be sumthin.LOXO7Hours increased.........
