@bartcunningham: I’m not so much concerned with the accounts sharing issue. This is inevitable in my view and I’ve been expecting this from the start.
What bothers me is their plans to make us pay for the service - and carry adverts too! I only started subscribing to these services to avoid the contant, often inane, adverts on terrestrial. This will be the deal breaker for me.
I know I’ve played one of these. Going from planet to planet if I recall correctly. Not sure which one, but I think it was the second one in the series too.
If you like M E, you might also like The Outer Worlds. It’s broadly similar.
The only reason I subscribe is because I dislike the ads. If I am made to sit through them too I may as well cancel.
I dropped Prime because all the best stuff was also accompanied by ads, or for a further fee in one form or another - especially after they had worked out what you liked.
On the other hand, I will at least have found a way to save some more money.
@lionheartssj1: I think so too. We may watch David Tennent again. But if they are just going to go straight back to what they have been doing recently both my wife and I will be off again.
It’s a pity they can’t go back to just the scary and imaginative SciFi stories that Doctor Who once was; before the LBGT minority hijacked it.
Speaking as a fellow "neutral viewer” I say fair play to Peter Jackson. Exactly the right attitude in my mind. Having today seen the first six episodes, I also believe he will not have been disappointed with 'The Rings of Power'.
For myself, recognising younger versions of familiar characters from the books, as brought to life by Peter’s films, is taking up half my attention.
Trying to correlate the events in the Rings of Power from the fragments I recall from 'The Silmarillion’ and other related Tolkein works I read maybe forty years ago is taking up the other half of my aching brain.
Even after reading these books, and then later Peter’s movies bringing them to life, I remain thirsty for more. So I welcome The Rings of Power. Although I can’t swear to it, I surmise much of The Rings of Power series is original.
I have all the books (paperback) upstairs somewhere. The ones I haven't got upstairs I will have borrowed from my local public library. God bless this service!.
