I've been playing through the DX10 demo of LP with a system similar to the one in the article. Although the res seems to max out in the demo at 1152 x 864 (ish), it runs smoothly throughout. I think the performance hit and the quality of DX10 are both being a little overhyped. LP with DX10 is very pretty, but it is a 1st gen DX10 game. Expecting it to rock your world might be a bit premature.

Vista isn't so bad for SupCom. I'm running it on a 8800GTX (AMD x2 4200+, 2GB XMS2 RAM) under Vista Ultimate at 1680 x 1050 with the detail cranked right up and it runs perfectly well no matter what you throw at it. If your setup is 12 months old or more, then XP will be a better bet for playing this game. If you have DX10 hardware and a fairly new computer, the presence of Vista won't make any noticeable difference in you average supcom game. Vista is still far from perfect, but it's not all doom and gloom.
