@Mendax2013 @LeFeverBeaver You're definitely right in the last statement :) I think your numbers are misleading though because (a) I'm on my 2nd Xbox and I'm sure many people are on 2nd, 3rd, 4th, etc, (b) not everyone creates a Live account because you really only need it to play online (which I don't really do), (c) what does "active" mean, and (d & e) I think "tens of millions" is a bit of an exaggeration and of those, how many really care if their unit is online or not? I suspect there are many like myself who have it online to update games, browse the XBLA every now and again, stream music, Netflix etc.; essentially it's online, whether I use it's online connectivity or not. It is, as you say, saying "screw you" to the gamers by REQUIRING It. It's just like if someone made me give them a nickel every time I used the bathroom - sure, I could afford it - it's really not gonna hurt me or make me go broke, but it would be a huge annoyance and out of principle there's no reason I should HAVE to pay them.

I'm sure some colloquialism is appropriate here, but the bottom line is that you're right. All they have to do is not be as F***'d up as MS and they win the popular vote. Just wish Forza wasn't a XB exclusive lol
While I will probably not be getting the XB1, just to play the devil's advocate, it's not entirely unreasonable to expect your fanbase to have internet access and be able to connect at least once every 24hrs. I mean, if you think about it, if you can afford the XB1, chances are you either have or can afford internet (and lets be honest; high-speed, always-on internet is near ubiquitous) and if for some reason your internet gets turned off, you probably have bigger issues than playing your Xbox (like the apocalypse or the Cylons are attacking) - almost everyone I know who is a gamer will eat ramen and cut out nearly every expense before they give up their internet connection. SO; while MS's policies are indeed draconian and greed-inspired, they're not really asking for anything you're not already likely able to give (as far as the internet connectivity thing goes). I'm not crazy about their used games policy. I'm happy PS4 is gonna be cool about that. Just my 2 cents. Nice article, Tom.
So... God of War had a baby with Modern Warfare while learning Japanese on Rosetta Stone? Looks cool; I'll probably get around to playing it after my massive backlog of games gets some attention...
@Proggie28 Most current gen games look this good - again the one you showed us was just a low-res screen capture of a video being displayed in low res lol... seriously, just rent the game if you really think YOUR picture is the actual resolution of the game. Cheers, mate!
@Proggie28 yea, see that's just a crappy screen capture of the video review, not actual gameplay. However, even if it was actual gameplay graphics, the fact that it got such rave reviews across the board is telling. @Arkhalipso has the right idea; and those are probably less rez than actual gameplay...
I want it bad... Not bad enough to buy the XBone though. IF - and only IF - I do buy it; F5 will definitely be one of the first games I buy. But F4 is still amazing, so it's gonna take more than F5 to sway me from my "boycott the new-gen" attitude...
