@leviathanwing @LeFeverBeaver You're very right to a large extent - but Gibson uses the ever-evolving guitar tech to produce the same thing they produced 50 years ago, just with astonishing speed and volume.

Oh well, you know how it is; no such thing as a perfect metaphor :)

Nintendo is the Gibson of the video game industry. Gibson has been making the same four or five guitars (Les Paul, SG, Explorer, Flying V, and ES) for a gazillion years with no end in sight and doing just fine. While I feel that Nintendo doesn't really have anything to offer me personally, I can definitely respect their business practice. You'll notice that people have been bashing Nintendo for years for rehashing the same four or five games but they haven't stopped rehashing them. I guess go with what works, right? Personally, I play Carvin, so Gibson can go F themselves. Wait, no wait; I have Gibson too lol.

@kingcole225 @LeFeverBeaver @lanasrj Hmm. You try playing Dream Theater's "Breaking All Illusions" on your 8-string guitar up to speed and THEN you can talk to me about challenge lol

@kingcole225 @lanasrj I think if the save options were a bit more robust I'd be inclined to agree with you; as it stands though, unless you want to manually save a new slot before every potentially fatal move, you're boned on those higher difficulties. I guess that's the allure for some people though, and more power to them :)

This game came out at the perfect time; I had JUST started XCOM on my PS3 when my friend asked to borrow my PS3 and I let him. You can also find a game similar to the original X-Com: UFO Defense called "Aliens Versus Humans" on the App Store. It's quite unbearable. But yea; other than lighting and textures, this is a near perfect port. One of my favorite games of all times.

@snova9308 now now, play nice - there's nothing wrong with what anyone chooses to spend their money on as long as it doesn't infringe on the god-given rights of others. the last thing we need on this site is class warfare...
