To bring up a different topic:

I absolutely love this game.... And not only because it has fantastic gameplay and an immersive storyline, but because i feel this is what games for "adults" should be.

I mean... this is the only game so far that i don't feel bad playing for 2 hours straight. I feel like i'm playing something important and necessary to be able to critique the world as we know it.

Many reviewers say it's a "thinking man's game" and I completely agree. One reviewer, I remember, said that there's games for strategists and puzzle-solvers, but that this game is made for the philosophers... people who like to think in that way.

I myself look forward to every cutscene in a game, and sometimes I play the game just to see them, so imagine when i stumbled upon MGS4's varied, pleasantly lengthy, (as I said, i think i must be a movie diehard at heart, but the longer the cutscenes, the more i seem to love the game) action-packed, emotive, and philosophical cutscenes, I knew that Kojima had more on his agenda then making just a fun game to play.

Frankly, this is the reason why I bought the PS3. Since the beginning this is what Sony has been touting: the ULTIMATE cinematic experience, and I've yet to see anything so mature and intelligent and grounded in real-world idealogies and criticism, that treats it's buyer like an intellectual, instead of a little kid with ADD as most games on a certain other platform seem to be shooting for. (NOT insulting ADD kids)

Before, it was Uncharted: Drake's Fortune that was the best game i've ever played (yes I've played all of the other big ones: HS, R&C, RFOM, COD4, etc.) but now, hands-down MGS4 is the best game I'll likely ever play... who knows, maybe Killzone 2 or FFXIII will take that crown next year, but for now it's definitely this game.

If your still hesitant about buying it, DON'T be. In fact, don't make the same mistake I did, and just go buy the Limited Edition, because I'm so regretting not getting it now....

And yes, i realize i may be getting a couple of TLDRs but I don't care, this was worth it :P

BTW, how is the Limited Edition, for those who care to share?

Okay so I need your guys' help on the specs of these games: Devil May Cry 4, Burnout Paradise and Turok.

Does anyone know if any of these 3 games support 1080i? It'll probably affect which one I end up buying first, as I like to have games that take advantage of my [old] HDTV first and foremost whenever possible.

It would be cool to know too if the sound in Turok is any good in the full game, as the demo had muffled, you-can-tell-it-came-from-a-microphone voice samples, at least from my setup. I figure maybe it does, since high quality 5.1 would probably take up too much room in a demo (I hope?).

Also, I know Turok isn't the best FPS out there, but I liked the demo, and the nostalgia for the N64 version makes it even better for me (even tho I never played the PS2 versions... don't remember why) so I'm getting it anyway.

Navigating the PSN store right now is a huge pain. The whole web browser thing is awful. Plus, can they just have it so I hit a button on the controller and it brings me to the previous screen? I know it has the PREV thing, but getting to the button is a pain in the butt.

Like other things on the PSN, they just need to copy Xbox Live.

Ehh... I agree they should change the interface to be more effcient, but I actually perfer it NOT be like the XBL marketplace...

I guess me and my cousins are the only ones who think navigating the XBL marketplace is terribly convaluted... It took us a while just to find where the add-on packs were for rock-band.... and when it's just menu after menu of lists of text... it's frankly not "fun" to shop if you don't kno EXACTLY what your looking for, if you get what I'm saying. It makes me appreciate the visual touch of the PSN (how a lot of things are picture-based and such)...

But I agree, they need to make a store designed specifically for a playstation 3 controller, not a mouse.

The fact that you can navigate the exact same interface on the computer (now) faster shows there's a problem with it.

I posted this on the appropriate forum, but I don't think I'll get a response fast enough...

So when does "Paint It Black" appear On the Co-op campaign? Is it at the same place as single player? If so, when? we've done almost all the songs on the regular setlist, I think we're doing "One" now, and we still haven't done Paint it Black...

How is this a misplaced topic? Did you guys not hear about the whole bet going on that if the Packers won, a new piece of info about MGS4 would be released?

Anyway, i really don't know. But since it's such an unconventional time to tell anything important (as in, if its something BIG, it should be said at GDC, E3, or TGS) I think it's going to be something obscure from the story of the game that will only make sense when we play it...

But who knows, it might be something huge and totally unexpected. When exactly was this new info gonna be released anyway? Like RIGHT after the game, or at a specific time?

I feel your pain trying to download it, sometimes it downloads mine, sometimes someone elses, and sometimes nothing at all. I will post it on allps3themes.com as soon as i get home. And maybe i'll find a nice sound and update my theme to have a cursor sound. The problem is though that any sound you add gets sped up enough to ruin the original sound. The cursor sound was what i struggled with the most. i tried everything from a bullet riochet, to a fire swoosh, to a silencer. I discovered how annoying it can be to have such a powerful sound when i tried typing a message. My only option is to forget the killzone theme for that feature only. Its just hard to find quality sounds to use, without infringing on any copyrights. Do you guys think i should alter the volume of the 3 sounds?Late at night i felt they can be a bit louder than i anticipated.

update* i just checked out allps3themes.com and it has a 12mb limit. id have to cut off 5mb somehow to post it. i guess you guys are stuck with psu's faulty interface. try hitting download over and over until my 17mb theme shows up.

RED_NAVE

I got it working anyway after 4 tries, i like it! Thanks for trying tho.

Um, do you think you can put it on allps3themes.com too? For some reason, everytime i try downloading it, i get a completely different theme named "sample" thats only 1.37MB, not yours... I've tried it on both my computer and ps3 too.

UT3, The Orange Box, FEAR, Guitar Hero 3, and the PLAYSTATION EYE. That's just the gaming-related stuff tho (which is i'm sure what you meant, so i won't go into anything else)

So for christmas i got the PLAYSTATION EYE and i was wondering which of the games for it are worth buying?

Eye Create is fun, but i would like at least one other "game" or just something else to use it for (even if it's got a bad "review score") until something substantial comes along next year... mainly because my little step-bro has been looking forward to playing something on it since i got it, and paying 5 bucks for a little game he can play whenever he wants is worth it to me.

I know there's only a handful on there, but i'm forced to be very choosy with anything that uses my mom's credit card (understandably... even if i DO always pay her for however much it costs)

So out of the handful of games for it, which one has been the most fun, considering the price? (i know there's some kind of fish thing that's cheap but maybe it's kind of fun too?)

I'd make a poll if i had access to my PS3 to see all of the games out for it, but i can't at the moment.

EDIT: I also already have all of the best regular PSN games, thanks to my cousin's credit card (everyday shooter, SSHD, CaC, Warhawk expansion, etc.) so i don't need any suggestions as to anything else i could be using the credit card for, thanks.
