Finally was able to to get my code to download Shovel Knight. Very fun so far. I'm enjoying the soundtrack quite a bit. I quickly found out that Shovel Knight can't use his shovel to bounce off of spikes......

Anyone watching the World Cup?? I've thoroughly enjoyed it. Seems to be more parity than what I was expecting. Personal highlights have been watching Spain and England getting knocked out. Oh and Costa Rica eating some nice upsets as well.

@fishpockets: I do. I agree it's a silly app. I downloaded it originally for the novelty , I didn't think anything would come of it. Since I downloaded it I've been on 6 dates. Haven't had any crazy ones yet though. I've gone to some pretty cool places and that's always a plus. Still use it fairly frequently. I have a few convos going on right now as we speak.

Because the numbers that you posted are from vgchartz, I would take those numbers with a massive grain of salt.

Depends on the launch titles and price. Price being the most important.

[QUOTE="JohnnyDanger87"]

I got it about a year ago and my only complaint was that there was not enough lessons. I also wished that the game offered a bit more help on the mini lessons too. Still, I had quite a lot of fun just fooling around in free paint. I was going to get Second Semester, but I thought I may as well just get the retail version of the game but I have not gotten that either. The game did have a lasting effect on me, during my lectures in school I find myself constantly drawing that pear all the time:lol:.

Yeah, I've already found myself looking at art in a totally different way. My school never offered any serious art classes (and I wouldn't have taken them anyway unless forced to), so I'm learning quite a bit.

I was looking at a painting above the toilet while I was peeing and realized that the clouds weren't painted white.... the sky around them was painted blue! I have such a literal mind that I never would've thought to let the clouds create themselves out of gaps in the sky.

Not only art but I find myself paying more attention to various objects, plants, animals etc., in a different way as well. For example, the tidal wave you have to paint, On my way to work I spend some time driving along Lake Michigan. The waves are tiny but it's cool seeing how it begins and end. It's not something I would have given much thought to if hadn't played the game.

Has anyone else tried Art Academy on DSiWare? It was one of the Club Nintendo free games this month, so I got it on a whim and it's AWESOME. I've never taken the time to learn anything whatsoever about drawing, and this is a pretty good introduction to the basics. And the pencil/brush physics seem to be pretty good.

It starts out really simple. I drew a pear.

Considering I've never tried to draw anything realistic before, I'd say that's pretty good. The last thing I drew with a pencil was pretty amazing, though.

The lessons have moved on to painting now, which I don't like as much because 1) I have issues with colors, and 2) it's hard to blend different shades in order to get the coloring right. But it's still pretty awesome.

I saw these videos earlier today. Hilarious stuff. I'm surprised Durant hasn't gotten a restraining order on that kid. It does seem like like he doesn't bother him too much though.

The game certainly looks impressive. It's nice to hear that the game has been well received so far.
