@restatbonfire: it captures what a lot of kitchens are definitely like. I’ve been in a handful that were very comparable.

@KingofRogues: it’s really difficult to be precise about any impact they have on eventual sales but it’s something you want to avoid for a host of reasons both quantitative and others that are more qualitative. Just generally - you don’t want first impressions to be from a leak. Advertising and other functions within Marketing go to great lengths to design when/where/how/what first and early impressions of a thing.

@mrbojangles25: kidnapping/ransom insurance is a thing. It’s fairly big business. Lloyds sells a good amount of it out of London.

Against the Storm is a weird city-builder with roguelike elements that is very well received (on Steam at least). Have definitely been wanting to try it out.

@mogan: kind of my thoughts too when I heard the announcement. I can imagine a good Zelda movie but it’s an arthouse vision that has no chance of seeing the light of day. They are going to make the most broadly appealing film to prove out the investment. Ain’t gonna be no $200+ million spent on an experiment with the IP in this first foray into major motion pictures. Link will 100% be in it and almost certainly talk.

@fester420: not the first time this has happened. The feed on the main page is borked. I don’t think people realize it but that thing is all automated. No one is “posting” to it. It pulls content in via algorithm.

From time to time now, every few weeks really, it gets drunk and wants to pull only stuff from 5-10 years ago.

@mrbojangles25:

I know I'm necroing you but: you should feel proud, you were the only person here that didn't post a stupid comment! No one else seems to know what inflation, value, basically any of the reserved terms they threw around here are. Factorio's price increase isn't and wasn't surprising even if such a thing is atypical in this market. Factorio just happens to be an atypical game and these have been atypical global economic conditions. The QE party is over.

@JamesHetfield89: in conclusion you get:

1) a Diablo 4 skinned Series X that does not work.

2) a Diablo 4 themed stand with gargoyle looking dudes standing around. A series X can be placed on top of this stand. Nominally it is for the Diablo 4 console that does not work.

3) a typical Series X. You can put this Series X on the stand, I am sure of that. Not sure why the winner would want to do that and have the artwork console chilling outside of the stand that was made for it.

That’s it. Really simple.
