I like Aeris more. But that's just because it was her name when I first played the game.

Moombas!

Why? Well because Moogles have had the spotlight for too long and Moobas are awesome. I've never quite understood the practicality of that little red ball on their heads either. Chocobos are an easy second choice.

The scene in space; where you think that Rinoa will die. Luckily you save her. But when I first played that part I was struck with the sorrowful thought that perhaps Rinoa wouldn't make it.

Aeris's death was the saddest part of any FF game I've played. Damnit, Sephiroth.

I loved the Chocobos in Final Fantasy VII. The moggles in Final Fantasy IX were the best. However, one of my favourite FF creatures would have to be the Moombas! I loved those little "firey" guys. Man, I wish I could buy one of those as a pet. :)

That's tough. I thought Auron was an amazing character. He's exceedingly calm and calculated in even some of the most dire situations. He is also quite knowledgeable and very wise. I would have to say that Auron is my favourite.

However, I also liked Lulu and Wakka a great deal. Rikku was another very special character.

Tidus was annoying. Kimahri was too silent; although he did show character at times. Yuna was great; however, she was a bit introverted. Sure, she was primarily concerned with the protection of Spira and it's people; however, she wasn't very communicative about her plans. She let her emotions get the best of her and would often fail to orchestrate her plans because of them. Hence, why I sort of thought that she was a bit "naive" and perhaps, even incapable. If there's one thing that can spoil an otherwise memorable character, it is ineptitude. She handled herself far better in X-2 though.

He's a bit annoying. Simply because he's immature and a tad obnoxious at times. I enjoy "mature" protagonists far more. Squall and Cloud were awesome. I liked Zidane, mainly because even though he was "charismatic" he was also quite light-hearted, yet focused on the goal. He also showed a lot of heart. Tidus was sort of a hybrid between Zidane and Cloud. He had the light-hearted, quirky, fun-loving temperament; however, he also is serious when he wants to. I sort of felt like Tidus was a bit cocky. More so than the other FF protagonists.

By the look of FFXII's male protagonist I hope we aren't subjected to another Tidus-like character. I'd much rather see a slightly more serious version of Zidane in the central role. Especially, if he has well reaonsed ethics.

Cloud for the win! He's simply got more at his disposal then Squall. He has his limit breaks, (which aren't quite as strong as Squall's, but still do wicked damage), awesome Materia, which allow him to cheat-death, use Knights of the Round and many other equally devestating attacks. I also like Cloud's personality more. If you think Squall has deeply traumatic psychological problems just because he has trouble relating to other people, then you obviously haven't considered that Cloud discovered that not only was his entire past an illusion, but that he was in fact a "clone" of Sephiroth. How's that for traumatic psychological drama? On top of that, he comes out in the end just as fierce and stout-hearted as he had been before discovering the truth. Cloud's coolness meter is off the charts. Squall had the whole "leather-clad tough guy" thing going, but Cloud has a motor-cycle and wicked huge sword. Not to mention his cool "new-look" from Advent Children. Cloud is my favourite FF protagonist to date, (Tidus and Zidane don't really compare), and I certainly liked him more than Squall.

That's my opinion though. My favourite characters of all time are: Cloud, Vincent, Aeris, Vivi, Steiner and Auron. Squall and Rinoa might have made that list, but I didn't really like the FFVIII cast in general. The best FF cast in my opinion was either: FFVII or FFIX.

Well, I'd like to see some nice voice-acting. Hopefully, they nail the voice-acting in Advent Children, when it is released here, and can hire them back for the remake, (if there will be one that is). I would like to see some new mini-games, perhaps some new features on the world map and "a lot" of backstory. The final fantasy VII plot was great; but I think some added backstory, (you know behind the scenes), would add a lot of value to the storyline. In particular, the events that transpired at Nimbleheim.
