@Landsharkk @DarthLod There will be similar style gameplay modes, just not called the same thing and it won't work exactly the same. Details haven't been released yet. But there will be plenty of game types for you and your wife to play.
@dre256x sigh... 4-6 TIMES as powerful. 100% is twice as powerful. So it'd be 300% to 500% more powerful. 4-6%... that would literally make NO difference in gameplay at all. 15% is the baseline for mattering at all. 30% is when it JUST starts to become noticeable to non-techie people. 500% would put it on par with current gaming desktops.... just about.
@Gorakka *facepalm. 180 degrees would be the opposite direction, 360 is a circle. What's 360 times 2? That's right, 2 circles and 720 degrees..... you're stupid.
@ArabrockermanX The wii U still isnt' quite as powerful as a 360... Not the same at all. It's like a wii + 15% and enough bandwidth to run 1080p. 4-6 times would put the console on par with current gaming desktops. Makes sense, especially if they want to keep it under 500 bucks. 300? Maybe with no hard drive? Sounds really low.
@ebolav35 Yeah, I call bs. Production cost of the 360 is very near 200 dollars. I don't know exactly what it is, but I'd guess it's no less than 150; and remember resellers don't pay 200, we do. They pay for like 170-180. I've thought for a long time, release games at 60 bucks, fine, but drop the pre-order price to 30 bucks. Offer the game to be downloaded instead of buying a disc, BUT if you do that it should be about 10-15 bucks cheaper. Disc, case, artwork for each, shipping AND retailer account for that 15 dollar price drop. In other words, it should only be 60 bucks for soccer mom's who have no idea and are buying a present from walmart. Then even the retail price should drop pretty quickly, I'm talking 6 months it should be 40 or less. Some ppl in here bring up good points with DLC. It's out of hand, I don't even want to see DLC till AT LEAST 6 months after launch, any sooner and it should have been in the game, prefferably 1 year. Used games? Gamestop only saves you 5 bucks 00% of the time on used games; but amazon, ebay, Steam, gog.com. All those save you a bunch normally. Last game I paid 60 bucks for was Halo 2 special edition. NEVER again. I just wait, then get it on amazon for 20 bucks or less.
@COPMAN221ISBACK It never happened? Then why'd they spend 4 BILLION!!! to fix EVERY bad console. From a percentage standpoint the disc error on sony were more prevalent than RROD of xbox. Xbox issue just got more press.
If you go on newegg every now and then they have sales on 1 year xbox live subscriptions for 30 dollars, 40 is more common, but at least once/year 30. So 60 bucks for 2 years. Means total cost of this console minus that 60 is 400. Or you could just go buy it for 200. Or get one with a hard drive and game bundle for 250. Very lame $soft. If they dropped it to 10/month though it could make sense for those who don't want to spend as much up front. And yeah, not including the kinnect since that offers no value at all. bluelion guy, RROD hasn't been an issue since the launch consoles. Nothing like PS3 disc errors, caused by that shitty blue ray. At least Microsoft spend 4 BILLION to fix their mistake, Sony just made you buy a new console. FoxExecutive, Playstation online is a joke, that's why it's free.
why don't they have the brightness and gamma settings across all the platforms set the same? Every time you do these comparisons you have the brightness settings set different. It makes for a pour comparison. Stupid gamespot. The PC IS more powerful, but some games still look better on consoles cause of how they're made. it depends on the game. GTA4 is obviously better on PC, world at war looks best on 360. And the PS3 always looks the worste but I think some of that is due to the gamma and brightness settings being set wrong!!!
