@PacoTaco Also, I will just address your statement in simplicity and say Blizz is not using this expansion to bring back subs because they have lost so, so many.
They are probably releasing it because it is a fun game and need new content so they don't lose more subs from the 6.8 million they have now. They could also be releasing it because fans who play the game like it when they release expacs because they can play the game more.
@PacoTaco By using the word purely, I was giving you the benefit of the doubt, so let me use your words.
Blizz didn't make this expansion to bring back subscribers, as you have said ("For such an important ex-pack (trying to bring back subscribers after they have lost so, so many)").
Why would they? They make more than enough money to keep the game running and develop new content in one month of bought game time. That's $68 million a month if I lower it from the $15 figure that you use, to $10.
The whole view that they are making this expansion to bring back subs like you claim it is being used for is completely bogus. It's the argument people try to use to say is proof Blizz is on their last leg.
If Blizz were hurting for money, then they would listen to all the whiners that think they know what a good Blizz game is. The one's who left a while ago and still can't get over their break-up.
@PacoTaco I doubt the expansion is purely to bring back subscribers. If they needed to do that, it would be free with microtransactions. You do realize Blizz makes more than enough money without any new subs?
