Changes in the core gameplay are considered "innovation." Adding more customization and tweaking loadout possibilities and what actions give streaks or exp is not.
I will say that some of the ideas bred in CoD 4 helped further the genre. But not as many changes in the following games should have made it into this video.
An excellent show. I think this has meaning to anyone that has been a gamer for a long time. It's easy to get sucked into the world of games well past the point at which it becomes unhealthy for you. The real question is where to draw the line. A question that is certainly different for everyone. Realizing that you need to find balance between gaming and other aspects of life is the most important part, though. Once you can keep that in mind, the rest follows.
However, certainly don't play games you don't like. Often times, the bragging rights for completion aren't worth the time investment to get there. Though that, too, is up to each person.
Wow. So now our "scientific" research can consist of supposition and introducing multiple variables to the subjects as long as it supports current mob mentality among the general populace?
No real control group? Both physical and video games being introduced at the same time, with no thought to the possible effects the interaction between the two may have? I don't even want to think what other inconsistencies exist in this "study" if there are such glaring issues with causal logic in the bold text.
I'm honestly disappointed in our scientific community that this got published. This is a premise for more research at best and a blatant attempt to cash in on public furor at worst.
Expect more to come. Hopefully, further studies will at least attempt real professionalism.
Great news for a company with a great future. If, that is, they can ever manage to make something nearly as nice as Minecraft. I wish them well, as I certainly want to see it happen. It's just a tall order to reproduce a phenomenon like Minecraft.

Yes, because remaining silent and just sucking it up has worked so well in the past when mob mentality has taken over the rest of the populace.
I've a better idea. Examine the causality of gaming first, THEN take action. Oh, wait....Studies have already been done. There is NO causality between video games and real world violence. So what logic is your little crusade based on? None? Just feel like it?
Get a clue and stop trying to tell people to pass on their right to speak out against what is obviously a witch hunt. Perhaps do something useful with your time, like balance the budget, address our economic issues, and fix our deadlock government? Sounds kinda like your job.
