Nah, your good to go playing this game first. Only advantage a person who played the prequel has is that they can upload their old charactor into the game. Also there is refferences to places that you will never see unless you played the first game, but even still its not that important to the story to know what these places look like or their histories. So yeahh, go ahead and play this amazing game and have loads of fun.
Diablo 1--- Warrior class was the best Diablo 2--- Barbarian class was the best Diablo 3--- Barbarian class was the best Sumation--- Barbarians are the most epic class in Diablo. Hands down.
Master... you saying GTA is better because it paved the way for Saints Row is the same as saying Atari is better than PS3, Xbox 360, and PC gaming because it paved the way... Saints Row looked at GTA and made something waaay more epic.
I consider it a Redfield story and ex-STARSstory because thats how the story started in RE1. RE2 introduced Claire Redfield who was looking for her brother Chris Redfield who was wrapped up in the RE1 Spencer Mansion incodent. RE3 was about Jill the ex-stars member. Code Veronica continued Claires search for her brother Chris Redfield whom she eventually found. Leon only appeared 3 games later in RE4 and had no connection to Chris or Claire. It was kinda like a side-story. RE5 then went back to the story of Chris Redfield and Jill. RE6 is gonna be Chris Redfield yet again who somehow meets up with Leon. It is most definately a Redfield and ex-STARS story. Leon Kennedy was a side character. Even in the books (Which go between games and based off games), they are about Claire Redfield and the ex-STARS members. Leon was only in 2 out of all of the books. Leon was always suppose to be a side character. He was just some cop that got accidentally mixed up in the Racoon City incodent. Then got put in RE4 and then everyone (especially RE noobs) got all crazy in love with Leon. I like Leon, but will always consider him a side character to the Redfield/ex-STARS story.
I agree with Kenny on the motorcycle, but some sort of transportation system might be cool. Like riding Brahman or a carriage pulled by Brahman or something like the way we see caravans traveling in FNV. I love the create-a-town idea. Simply epic. Dynamic weather would be epic too (i like the idea of seasonal climate changes).
So, I just got done watching the trailer for RE6. First of all it looks amazing (except for too much zoning in on Leon, not a hater, but we just saw him in RE4, give another character some time) but what i saw that got my nerdgasm booming was the fact that it looked like ACTUAL ZOMBIES were in this game. Not just this Uroboros crap. I mean Uroboros was a nice change of pace... but im ready to see actual T-Virus/G-Virus zombies again! Which is what it seems like im seeing in the trailer! Plus some fresh new BOWs that havent been seen before. Im guessing since Leon is in this that Ada Wong will show up and since Chris is in it, obviously Wesker will be in it (Alex Wesker) but still a Wesker. A grown Shirley Birke has been shown and since the President is involved then Ashley will most likely also make an appearance. Im anxious to see who else will be showing up I.E. Jill Valentine maybe. Claire Redfield maybe. Rumors of a new character turning out to be Hunk without his mask... This is gonna be epic. Share your thoughts.
Thinking further on this topic. The story is also based not only around the Redfields, but also the surviving ex-S.T.A.R.S members. So Jill actually has more right to be in the story than Leon does.
