Have not played any of the Batman games, but it sounds to me based on the review that some investors in the project had too much say-so and went with 'what sells' instead of allowing a developer to do what they should do... make great, innovative games.
Do you want to read something misogynistic? I'm sick of reading Petit's reviews because if it's not pro-feminism it's sexist. Makes me want to take my girl, have her dress up in something slutty then parade her around on her collar and leash into the Gamespot office over to Petit's cubical.
I'm glad she had fun with the game, though, I'm certainly looking forward to the heists.
I'm totally biased, won't change, but I did read it again and I see feminism. Equality is equality, feminism is sexist just as much as male chauvinism is sexist.
If you don't like how something is done, then do it yourself. If she feels more companies should have female leads and creative directors... cool, she should setup a fund herself to help with that.
It's SEXIST because of this belief she has "I think it takes women working on games for games to change." Thinking it takes a certain sex, race, religion, etc to change something is biased.
How do I know? I'm biased, that's why, I'm a sexist pig and damn proud of it. I respect women, their rights and thoughts and feelings, but if it's put out in the open on a silver platter I'm going to stomp all over it for what it is.
I bought the game, knew it was online only, and was excited at some of the changes they said they were making which needed to have the game online. Playing a region with my buddies was the whole reason I bought it.
The problem laid in the issue with traffic and how the agents were processing between work/school/home. Major traffic jams occured that required 'creative' road construction, and to this day the issues were still there 3 weeks ago. Once a city gets to the point of having sky-scrapers the city bogs to a halt. No traffic in or out.
Once the update is out I'll give it another go, though I wish the game did have an offline mode because I would like to be able to play my city when I visit friends and family in remote places. I'm not a fan of the online only mode, and it's been proven it's not required for the game to work just for social features which feel tacked on and lack luster at best, but it's the game. So I'm on the fence.
I was not a fan of the overly juvenile tone of the game, myself, but it was a fun game. I really dislike how DLCed it was, I don't feel I got my money's worth of the game.
