People will eventually get sick of crappy 3D (plenty of people are already), but quality 3D can actually add to a movie, and a lot of people enjoy that. Avatar and Inception, for example, both had great 3D that added to the overall affect of the movies. People will continue to enjoy that kind of experience.

DustinTheWind

2 movies out of how many that are made with 3D now?

it will pass, something more exciting will come along eventually and take hold...always happens

I named two... as examples... there are plenty of high quality 3D movies.

Tron? I am curious to know what other GOOD 3D movies have been made, besides those three

tbh, i liked Avatar without 3D, i never saw Inception in theaters

Innovation is frequently derided as a "gimmick" by shortsighted detractors who lack the imagination to see how new ideas and technologies will develop and be embraced in the future. More often than not it's a meaningless criticism.

[QUOTE="MrSelf-Destruct"] I guess so. For me the only real improvement over the original was the combat and characters. The story was so much better in the first one for the simple fact that there was a real antagonist and some interesting plot twists. The story structure in general was infinitely superior. I could go into detail about it, but I'm sure no one cares. lol. Overall, I was disappointed to see all the customization options chopped. The skill system was dumbed down to the point that there were few actual choices to be made and the best ones were obvious. I had a lot of fun outfitting each character and balancing all their stats in the first one, so I was pretty bummed to see that all of that was removed from the second. Changing weapons just doesn't cut it. Hell, you can do that in COD and pretty much every game out there that has more than one gun. Also, no matter how terrible the Mako is Exploring >>>>>>>>>>>>> Scanning. Just saying. :P

MrSelf-Destruct

were going to agree to disagree, then

FOREVER

GOOD! Honestly, though, if Mass Effect 2 would have kept the RPG elements intact and left the planet exploring out all together instead of replacing it with the even more ridiculous scanning minigame I would have almost nothing to complain about. Almost nothing. The game was near perfect otherwise.

i agree with u on the scanning

but i think ME is better off for dumbing down the RPG elements...i didnt think it did that well with them in the first place

but with Dragon Age, all it really needed was a change to the anemic combat, and i would have been happy, the second is still an awesome game though

i agree about innovation, sure

it is impressive that the system produces 3D without the need of glasses

but i dislike 3D

add to the fact that it is taking over every media that it can take over...and you will see that i have a basis to form my opinion on

people will eventually get sick of 3D, just as everyone will eventually get sick of motion controls

[QUOTE="Texas2089"] I actually liked the dumbed down feel I got from the demo. I absolutely hated the combat in DAO but the combat in Dragon Age II felt much faster paced and was a lot more enjoyable for me. I also liked that they took the conversation wheel from ME and implemented that instead of having a long list of choices. Much simpler and less reading :P I still have yet to play the full game though. I still need to finish up the last little bit of DAO (about to go check the trouble in the Alienage during the Landsmeet), but I haven't had much gaming time lately and what little time I have had, has basically gone into Pokemon Black :P To be honest, after reading in the review about how there was no central plot to the game and the story didn't really feel like it was driving the game, my excitement has gone down TONS. Probably another reason why I have hardly any motivation to hurry up and finish DAO. Even if I had the time I don't even feel like rushing to finish it because I have a sinking feeling I'm going to be let hugely down the Dragon Age II. The story is what drove me in DAO and its disappointing to hear that the main plot is virtually nonexistant. From my understanding, the game basically lives and dies by conversations and interactions with other characters, and while that's all well and good, it doesn't seem like enough to carry the game the way the story did in DAO. I have a bad feeling I'm going to start it but get bored halfway through and never finish it.MrSelf-Destruct

[QUOTE="MrSelf-Destruct"]I was dying to play Dragon Age 2, but now I'm getting the feeling that Bioware went the same route they did with ME and dumbed the sequel down to make it more appealing. How are you guys liking it? Texas2089
