Yes, competition is very good. Without the Mac, Vista wouldn't have had a better OS to compare against and without Vista, we would not have Windows 7. I don't see Macs taking over the computer world anytime soon though.
cspiffo: DRM isn't bad by itself, its the way they interfere with the experience. Being allowed to only install it a couple of times definitely ruins the experience. The DRM featured in 360s and PS3 isn't as draconian as the ones featured by EA games. Also, it isn't just the DRM that stops you from playing 360 games on PS3.

This comes from a Wii and PC owner, not a PS3 nor 360 owner. I have friends who do own PS3s and 360s, and I have to say I have had more of a blast playing 360 than PS3. The installation for every game is a joke, seeing how it does nothing to make graphics better. The extra capacity of the Blu-Ray with the extra hardware is squandered by the developers. PS3 could potentially anal-rape the 360 till 2 in the morning, but it doesn't. It doesn't because of fanboys like you, who don't demand better treatment. You blindly believe that PS3 will always be better, no matter how wrong you are proved. You don't go up to developers and ask, why the **** the PS3 version is as good as the 360 version, even though the Blu-Ray discs can hold much more detailed textures and models and the better hardware can proccess more shaders. Its people like you, villain, who fail the PS3.
Intel + nVidia = Win. Right now, who seriously cares about Quad-core. Dual-core is still pretty recent technically speaking and you really don't need anything more than a dual core unless you want to spend $4000 just to brag about it.
Wow I never realized so many people used 7600s like me. The XFX 7600 GTS XXX Edition I got worked fine on Oblivion, Overlord, and the Lost Planet DX9 Demo, but I eventually swapped it with an China-imported Colorful GeForce 8600 GTS.
