So? You don't know what his graphics card, so you can't tell whether that game will run or not. He said that everything else is fine, I am sure he knows his own PC more than you.

Just a copying files in windows won'twork. You need to ghost the drive using an utility like Norton Ghost. Then the entire structure will be copied over and you'll have exact same situation as before, but with a larger and faster drive.
Yes the XP mode is just MS VirtualPC with XP installed. You can do the same if you have a XP OS (VirtualPC is free). It's not at all meant for gaming (much too slow, no hardware acceleration).
I am interested in SSD for performance but we still don't know enough about reliability. Considering how flash disk die so easily I have my doubts and will probably wait a couple of years for the prices to go down and the technology to mature.
