@kyelo: Exactly. There is a reason a couple of AAA companies (especially in the MMO sector) are starting to become more transparent and offering game updates (not in the same level of Kickstarter games ofcourse). Example Square-Enix.

@Flyin3lvl: Obviously the first choice should be FF Dimensions, since its made by Square.

Its also b2p (and IMO that puts its a class above the rest) and a good game. Uses the job system (like FF5). Its exactly like a traditional FF game minus the f2p bullshit. I checked and its also cheap now (7 euros)

Next in line would be the mobile games. IMO the best would be FFBE, then FFRK or Mobius.

FFBE and Mobius are turn-based which means your characters go first, then the enemies etc. Rest are ATB-based.

Each title has its own strengths, and each his own weakness. All mobile games are gacha games, meaning that they have some currency that you use to pull for stuff. Usually this stuff is random (meaning you wont get always what you hope) so one must try his chance in specific banners where the chance for that specific chance increases.

Mobius's gacha is card-based, FFBE's is character-based and FFREK's is weapon-based

Mobius is different than the rest since you only have one character that can change jobs. Plus it uses a card=equip ability system. It has an original story/music, cutscenes, voice acting (!) etc. Kinda hard to get to at first,

FFBE and FFRK share a common theme which is: you can play with other FF characters (ex Exdeath & Vaan in same party?)

FFBE has original story/music & original characters that can summon visions (meaning characters from other FF games). All characters come with their own skills, some are more powerful than others and you cant change a lot in their skills. Plays a lot like a traditinal RPG, overworld, quests, towns, explorations

FFRK has one new playable character (and another non-playable one) and you can put characters from other FF games in your party (a whole lot more than FFBE plus they are more accessible to get) and their skills are blank for you to fill (but 2 slots only). Stats, limit breaks, class is pretedermined. And you travel in other FF games killing mobs and bosses. Copies music from other FF games for maximum amount of nostalgia.

Check all games in Youtube, but to summarize: 1. FF Dimensions, 2. FFBE, 3. FFRK or FFMobius.

@Flyin3lvl: Well you cant compare them with the console/pc versions. The difference is night and day

The specific games are made by mobile companies (good at what they do) who rent the FF license from Square.

While the games i mentioned they are good to f2p players (for the most part) ,they try to goad you to spend cash (which IMO isnt worth it). I recommend both games to you, but i think FFBE has a better f2p model and looks more like a FF game (with dungeon explorations, towns etc).

There is also FFRK (FF Record Keeper) if you like more the 8-bit NES FF graphics. Its story is more simplistic though, but it also has a good f2p model and it showers you with units and events from all FF games (all FF mobile games do that with various collaborations/events, but FFRK does it much more frequently.

If you are looking for another FF game that is quite good, there is FF Dimensions. It resembles FF 4 in scope/quality/game systems and has a lot of content for a mobile game (50+hours).

Honestly I dont know why this game wasnt released in consoles/pc..

It costs money though (i think 15 euros?), since its not a f2p game by any means. But its quite good.

@Flyin3lvl: They are in mobile. FF Mobius deals with the doomed altered timelines of Chaos in FF1 (so more like a spinoff of FF1) and FF Brave Exvius is an original story.

Mobius was voted best looking mobile game of 2016 and FF BE graphics are FF6 style (not the remake, the old one -which was better).

@luciferous: yeah! since the players actually failed at the end of FF 1.0.

What a bold way to finish 1.0 and kick 2.0 with that awesome video!

And it certainly paid off!

@Smosh150: well said.

But then again this is Hollywood. While Nolan is a good director, you will only see half-truths from them.

Gamespot maybe check the other mobile awards first (like the Google Play awards etc and others).

Maybe then your lists will be more credible.
