As tiring as it is, a link needs to be studied, if only to prove what most of us believe is true anyway (that games do not cause violent tendencies).
Once studied, and proven, those pushing for tighter regulations on games etc. will have to look elsewhere.
If, for any reason, violent games really do make people violent, then it is possible that some good can come from this (restricting access to those under 18 etc.).
It would make the most sense to treat the mentally unstable in the first place, but for some reason that appears to be at the bottom of the agenda for those desperate to control the media!
Violent games undoubtedly play a part in satisfying a desire for aggression in those who are susceptible to it, but that doesn't mean they are the cause of any 'acting out'.
Correct me if I am wrong, but I'm pretty sure murderous rampages existed well before all types of modern media, and they all have one thing in common - mental instability.
Instead of playing the blame game, we should be looking at ways of offering more social support to those who are unstable to begin with. You could ban games like GTA, or we could find a way of creating a better social environment - I'm pretty sure that one of those solutions would prevent these horrible shootings, and another will simply just remove something to point the finger at when it all goes wrong.
Oh don't get me wrong, there are lot of people to consider the Xbox One or PS4 to be a close match to a mid-to-top end rig, but they clearly are not.
The next gen consoles have adopted PC architecture because it is efficient (and cheaper than a bespoke chipset), but most are under no illusion that the quality of PC is under threat!
Let those who enjoy consoles get on with it, they clearly aren't that interested in the highest possible graphical fidelity at all times (such as myself).
Yeah, insecure. I have a gaming PC myself which is powerful enough to run whatever games I like on it with the quality I'd want.
My point isn't that PCs are not better (they are far, far superior), it is that there's no need for people such as yourself to point out the obvious. Hopefully, GTA V will come to PC so you and other PC gamers can enjoy it, but in the meantime we don't need to hear just how amazing PC is by comparison - it is irrelevant.
The term 'Next Gen' pertains to the context of consoles. The Xbox One and PS4 are the next generation of consoles.
Yes, PC has better graphics (amongst other things), but unfortunately it also has people socially awkward and insecure like you, who deem it necessary to state how superior the PC really is.
