With the fighting game genre being revived in the last few years and with the upcoming Street Fighter X Tekken and Tekken X Street Fighter games in the works, I thought it would be a good idea to get everybody's opinions on both of these series'. As a whole, which series do you prefer? Do you only like both, one or neither? I understand that these are two very vastly different games, but it is something that provokes a bit of thought. I, personally prefer the Tekken series, mostly because of the fact that I tend not to like 2D fighters. I have played and own every game in the Tekken Series but have only played SSSIV. Which do you prefer out of Teken 6 and Street Fighter IV? Once again, I prefer the Tekken side of things. It is highly accesible for people who just want to mash the buttons and look at the pretty graphics, but has a deep combo system and crazy amount of characters, moves and modes and, as all Tekken games, an extremely engaging story. I love SSSIV, but Tekken 6 is just that much better in my eyes. Also, if you could only get one of the crossover games- The Street Fighter style (Street Fighter X Tekken) and The Tekken style (Tekken X Street Fighter)- which one would you get? This may be a hard question to answer, as detais for both games aren't very detailed so far (although, Capcom have put out a fair bit of info and a rough release date for sometime in 2012 for their game). This is a hard descision for me. I would like to find how both games deal with the projtiles of the Street Fighter characters, and whether or not the Namco release will include super/ultra combos and if it will develop the huge command lists that the Tekken characters have for the Street Fighter characters. That being said, I would be more inclined to get the Namco release, because, as mentioned, Iam simply more of a fan of Tekken than Street Fighter. Happy posting!
