The way I see it, this is flame bait. For someone who owns both consoles and not seeing as to why they should pay for online on the 360...the thread wasn't meant for you to be convinced.
XBL is really no different from PSN, but just has some extra good features. The main points someone with both consoles would actually pay for XBL are:
1) They have no problem with spending $7, $12, $50 subscription fees.
2) To play with their friends
3) Enjoy the overall superiority of XBL over PSN(This is me.)
Go convince your ownself. Are you that handicap to not be able come up with an answer yourself when all the materials are right there in front of you?

This is not flame bait. I am being sincere. I have not flamed anyone. I have stated the way I feel, and ask nicely for a counter arguement. Sadly you didn't really do that. At no point did you say specifically why xbl is worth paying for over PSN. Yes playing with your friends, but I can do that on PSN. What is the "overal superiority of xbl over psn"?
[QUOTE="killzowned24"]there is no reason to pay for what should be FREE.ArthriticNinja
Why should it be free?
I pay for the system
I pay for the game
I pay for the internet connection
Why do I need to pay for the right to play the game I bought on my system with the internet connection for which I am billed.
hmmmm a little redundant perhaps, but the point gets accross.
[QUOTE="WhenTheTwoFace"]I'll stick to Gamereactors preview; "We have also played Resistance 2, and it smelled like a German urinal."no_handlebarsHow does a game emit a smell?
I might be the only one who sniffs a new game, but I love that new game smell. It is better than the new car smell.
I got my 360 on launch, and also got a Gold membership. When I got my PS3, I stopped paying XBL. I just wanted to play online, and I didn't/still don't see the benefit of paying for XBL. Please convince me otherwise. As far as I can tell the only feature that XBL has that I want on PSN is the ability to chat with friends playing different games. What am I missing that is worth $50? I am tempted to get gold because of GOW2, but I need more than one game to justify paying the $50. There are lots of great games coming out left and right this season, and paying for XBL would mean playing one less game. I don't care about netflix, and so I would never use it.
Please use facts to support your claims. If you can't support your claims, then why should anyone believe you?
Thank You.
I have played both my ps3 and my 360 on a sdtv, a 32" 720p CRT, and a 40" 1080p lcd. Each time it was a huge step up. The difference from the sdtv and my new lcd is night/day. Try sniping on CoD4 on a sdtv, then try it on a big screen hdtv and say there is barely a difference. Assuming that all your settings and cables are done right, then you should see the same difference, though you are using a small monitor. Size matters. A possibility is that you have some amount of color blindness. I am not trying to give you hard time, I'm just saying it is possible. It is very common to have some degree of it. It is also something that you wouldn'tnecessarilyknow without being tested.
As it has been previously stated you wouldn't notice a big difference between 720p and 1080p movies unless you have a big screen and the film was shot w/ a digital camera. The most amazing example I can bring up is BBC's Planet Earth. Because of the camera they used sd vs 1080p is night and day difference. Ittrulyis astounding.
