The worst part here is that coming into this article, I assumed Harmonix was in control of this. They have a reputation of being very customer-friendly, so I was very disappointed until I saw EA was actually responsible. The sad part is that many people will not get to read that statement and blame Harmonix for something they didn't do.

Even if there are more single-player games, people will who pirate them now will still pirate them then. It'll just be a little bit harder. What he fails to understand is that it is a money issue, not a creative issue. Maybe if games dropped in price dramatically as a result of this, say, to $30 or even $25 (which will likely not happen, but rather the opposite) then it could be beneficial, except in the case of having games locked to one console. @megakick: Some people don't have the money to be able to not worry about $60 games, which seems to be the industry standard now. Gaming has become a very expensive hobby if you're serious about it, and used games are keeping the costs down for many people. Between $60 and controllers costing $40 or $50, the industry is soaking up our money and then coming up with new ways to hose us even more. If this continues to happen, PCs are going to become radically cheaper, stripped down to Steam Machines and many gamers will migrate there.

What "sustainable business model" is the writer thinking of? The only one I can really see that blocks used game sales completely is a system like Steam. Honestly, when you think hard enough about it, you could have one person buy a game and have 500 people buy it used over and over again. Instead of making profit on a game that 500 people played, loved, and raved about, the people who created it are left with the same amount of money as if they'd just sold the game to a family member and that's it. I'm sure with the dawn of major libraries book publishers felt the same way, but with games it's a whole new level. Worse yet, if companies stop charging the ludicrous prices on games ($60, really? Games on Steam frequently go on sale for 30%, 40%, or 70% off, even big titles released a few months ago like Civ 5) and lower it to $40, the price of the used games goes down to $20. It's a lose-lose all around, because no matter how devastating it actually is to the industry, it's never going to stop any companies from trying to rake in money off of it.

The thing that bothers me about these kinds of charges is that it doesn't matter. What are you hoping to accomplish attacking something, and why do you even care if a character is portrayed a certain way? You limit yourself to only making characters who are politically correct and you're going to have no more good characters who have any real depth.

@lookin_boy: Really? Are you that attention-starved? You have less than no idea what you're talking about. Try playing either of the games just once for 30 seconds. Your ignorance is physically painful.

The bottom line in 90% of cases is the 360 has FAR superior shadows. I love a good shadow effect, so I'm a sucker for it. PS3 has better draw distance sometimes, though.
