[QUOTE="stevo232345"]

After looking at the forum page of games coming out in 2008 I'm starting to think about giving up on gaming. I'm a huge RPG fan and 2008 looks kind of dissapointing in that genre. Dragon age and Fallout 3 are the only decent games. I'm not looking forward to purchasing them and then waiting for patches to be released just to make the game playable. I'm starting to feel too old for gaming since I'm turning 24 next year.I also need to upgrade my computer or buy a new one so the money i'd spend isn't looking too good. I think it's time to end my long lived interest of playing games. Does anyone else feel like this?

i just wish msoft wouda delayed the release years ago so that weda waited a month more without it stead of sending it in 3 times for a month each... so badly built a home built pc lasts longer... i also had a friend trip over the wire while my halo disc was in. pulled the console an inch but it scratched the disk all the way around. now ill never finish campaign and i can only play a few maps on multi player.

it was shell casings or debris from the door. there are no physical bullets flying around in any games, at least until recently. up until the most recent games when you click your mouse it tells the program to execute the lines of code that show your gun fire and register damage. all its doing is seeing if your crosshairs were over a hitbox, like a previous poster said. some games have bullet lag, and take into account how fast the target is moving in what direction and how far away, but in CS the AWP for instance hits immediately wherever your crosshairs were at the time you clicked. if over a hitbox it causes damage the moment the other player's computer recieves the information stating that you clicked their hitbox, thus executing the lines of code that cause your targets damage meter to go down or to execute the graphical representation of death (or whatever you wanna call it)

ive been thinking of buying an xbox for a while but this is the one thing holding me back. every single one of my freinds that has an xbox (like 20 of em) has had a 360 break except for one of them. my computer broke a while back under warranty and i spent literally 24 hours on the phone with customer support with alienware over the course of a week. they were telling me to do all these tests, they sent a new hard drive, motherboard, graphics card and i kept telling them its the RAM. all in all i spent like 2 days of my life fixing my computer, and im reluctant to do it again with a 360. anyone know if the elite or halo edition are better off cuz i dont wanna spend another minute on the phone with any tech support.

who said all mmos had to be rpgs? i personally love WoW though. i dont just quest or lvel. i run my guild, i talk to people, i just run around and pass some time in it. i havent played in a few months but i did have some pretty good memories in it, like being the rabbi at a virtual gay wedding where we had two raid groups of people watching at the docks of ratchet... just one of countless good times and laughter i remember. getting back to my original statement, i do believe that mmos are the way of the future. mmofps, mmorts, all the different types of games could be mmos. imagine a game in which youre fighting a huge war. some people are pilots, so sterring ships, people manning guns, people fighing in tanks or on the ground. imagine a day in which hundreds of thousands of people are connected on one server playing against eachother for a few hours, each with is or her own job on an immense battlefield. it would be awesome.

btw the gay wedding was a joke, we were trying to get people to get mad so we could sue blizz for discrimination if a gm did anything lol.

right now nothing really. what would take it too far is a game that has you kill thousands of innocent people for no reason at all with photo realistic graphics and physics. that would be dangerous. im talking like a GTA game with incredible graphics where you just kill everything, kinda like what i could see one ofthe columbine kids playing. i have no problem with photo realistic military shooters. if you made battlefield 2 look absolutley real it might make me feel weird playing it but it would not be taking it too far. its not so much the violence as the way in which it is used.

mhf2 is just like mhf but with 50% more content. new weapons, armor, monsters, areas, and basically everything than MHF. monster hunter is more of a skill based RPG. you need to learn what the monsters do and learn when tom ove in to atack and when to roll out or dodge r else youll be killed quickly. your level (in this case hunter rank) des nothing for you stat wise, it just opens up new tougher quests and items. it is not at all like final fantasy as it is real time combat focused more on weapons, armor, and fighting skill than the strategy you take to defeat a boss (like ths character use this spell this one attack heal this round) in final fantasy. i personally love the game, but its probably not for someone whos looking for a storyline turn based combat RPG.
