if all i ever played/cared about in a game was SP, i would probably have logged 45 hours of playtime on pc games in my whole life. a lot more on consoles but compared to my 1400+hours on xfire ALONE which i just got two years ago and dont have on all the time.... i dont think id play much in the way of video games.

lol. better games, at least for online. great idea but its not really the kind of online experience i look for in a pc game, and i think i can speak for most people that are into pc multiplayer. gears is cool but the multi dun work for me. i wont buy it.
remember many of these wont be coming out or are expansions/sequels to existing games. only a few will draw a fanbase big enough to draw players away from "the greats" who you criticize anyway. i like WoW. a lot of grinding but raids are cool, gear is awesome, its well made other than the lack of a story. but im not one to read every quest description.
gold is more for 360 users. you need gold to play online on xbox. anyway i dont think ill buy it. gears just isnt my kind fo game. its a great idea and im sure tons of people will love it, but the whole cover system and active reload one shot kills with sniper is so dumb.
if youve got the money and youll use it, then yes. i personally wouldnt use a second handheld system because my sp sees rare use already, though some of the new games may have me playing a bit. when im at home i play on my pc. i just use my psp in like the airport or when im not anywhere near home for a week. if your ds sees heavy use, then the psp wont be a waste.
to run stuff nicely you need at least 2 gigs of RAM, a 3ghz cpu, preferably dual core or something like a 2.4 core 2 duo and youll want at elast a 7900gt to run stuff okay in dx9 mode. for crysis youll need an 8 series, like an 8600gts or above.
