I don't think that the current games warrant so much power. I have and amd 64 X2 4200 with dual nvidia 8800 gts 640mb and I get 28 FPS on Crysis at medium settings at 1024 by 768. I play Prey and Doom 3 as well as Half life 2 maxed out and I get over 60 FPS. I think this will appeal to gamers that like to get high 3d mark scores.

I have an XBOX 360 and the games look great. I think Sony is priced much too high. Except for a couple of exclusives(FF and MGS)the PS3 and XBOX 360 will have the same games. When I buy a system, I want it for gaming, not watching movies. If I want HD movies I will buy a HD box. There is no way I will buy a PS3.

I have an Nvidia 7600GT with 1Gig of Ram and an AMD 4000. I can play Quake 4 maxed out with good frame rate. I also played HL 2 maxed out with good frame rate. I do not think that anything higher than 60FPS makes a difference to the human eye. I played these games on a friends system which was a maxed out Dell with all the bells and whistles but could not see a big difference. My system however is much better than my previous P4 with 1 gjg of ram and an ATI 9600se. If I tried to max out quake 4 the game would hardly move. For my money the setup I have now is fine.
