Just the ones who still talk to me: all two of them. Actually one of them isn't even an OT user.

The thing I don't like about the term "Grammar Nazi" is that most of the time the words corrected are simple words that most people SHOULD know, regardless of whether it's "only the internet," "not an English lesson" or any other pathetic excuse people have. Calling someone a Grammar Nazi for correcting you on your improper use of their/there/they're is like calling the police dictators for stopping you because your car is on fire. If people went around and corrected the most obscure syntax errors then you could call them a Nazi...

I stopped playing at the end of the homicide case. Why?
Well firstly I was disappointed that the killer wasn't really someone who had "been around" - I mean I met the guy once quickly and he seemed completely incidental, which is mostly fine I guess, but it kind of felt like a deus ex machina ending to the cases. If he had been a completely random and new character would it have made a difference? Absolutely not. I think that's poor writing imo. But secondly, and most importantly: I don't recall any of the previous suspects really saying they were innocent. A couple of them were antagonistic towards cops for other reasons (like being a pedophile), I'm okay with that; but most of them were antagonist for no reason at all. Despite the game telling me time and time again that there was a link between the cases, and that all of these people were innocent, they all acted as if they were guilty and were egging the police on to actually prove it. If someone accuses you of a crime you didn't commit you don't egg them on to prove you guilty you tell them "No it wasn't me!" and don't answer questions looking and sly and shifty.
Is it my imagination or was the writing just really stupid? (this is ignoring all the other silly things going on in interrorgrations)

Yes it is fast paced. So is BFBC2. It keeps you in the action more than 2142 and BF2 did, but it still has the massive area with the tactics. You have to know the point of attack and talk to your squad. THink about when to hold back, rush in, split up and so on. You talk about where the enemies are. YOu res eachother like mad. You have tactics of knowing which point to go to next and how to approach them. CoD is a run around killing eachother fest. If BF3 was all about that, my brother wouldn't rank up in the top 2 with me, cause he doesn't kill as much as I do.

It is situational. You use camo, cover, and discretion.

Watch the video. Even that is a mild example of what I mean. It's all death match stuff. There's nothing in there you wouldn't find in Call of Duty.

Then don't play deathmatch! *facepalm*

Just saw your edit...

It makes it even worse that I couldn't tell it was death match because that's how people play it normally.

You gotta realise I am not talking about gamemodes but the way the infantry combat itself plays out. People ALWAYS run around like rambo and use sniper rifles as shotguns REGARDLESS of game modes. That's been my experience across three platforms.

Edit: Just to reiterate my issue is that in CQ it looks and feels the same as any Call of Duty game, making the maps bigger MIGHT change that factor a bit, but essentially it's the way it's hardcoded into the game and playing it the same way CoD is played is EXTREMELY effective. Across 3 platforms in a variety of game modes, I hardly see how that's got anything to do with me.

Perhaps you should explain what you think of when you think of Call of Duty. To me I think of people rushing around without using tactics, taking the Rambo approach to gunplay. It seems to be an incredibly effective tactic in BF3. In otherwords, BF3 is incredibly fast paced, far more than it should be.

Look at this video. People are running around like rats. That doesn't even include the 50 videos I could show you of people runing around with SMG's or magnums and the fact that no one in any of the videos shows any sign of tactics or anything.
