This looks like the spiritual successor to Dragon's Dogma, which was Capcoms initial attempt at the Western RPG scene (and it had a battle system LEAGUES better than Skyrim already). I have full faith that this game will be great if it builds from what they learned from Dragon's Dogma.
@blazin640 @Dantat I agree with that. In my opinion, they are more positive on the scale of creativity compared to other devs (which may not be saying much).
The worst would be Madden, which is the EXACT same game every year with a roster update. And for some reason, they can sell more than a million copies yearly.
@Ehggsz Good game + more eroticism are not mutually exclusive.
Game of Thrones had like.. 2 pairs of boobs per episode, but we can all say that boobs weren't the only reason why record numbers of people tuned in every week.
@willzihang Well.. although I implied that there are SOME good Western developers.. the companies you listed aren't exactly persuading.
Fireaxis - coming out with the 50th expansion for the Sims 3 yet?
Creative Assembly - comes out with Rome 2.. which is so bug ridden that I think Rome 1 is better atm. And no, there is not much special about there games.
Bioshock - I think these games are good. I just didn't list it.
Castlevania - A Japanese game
X-com and Mortal Combat - Meh, reboots of decade old games.
I say what I say because my favorite games for the past couple years have been by Japanese devs whereas everyone else has going crazy over Madden 25, COD 10, etc. As I said before, there are some (though few) Western games that I have been excited about.. there aren't much.
