Denying how much of an effect optimization, better engines suited to design layouts of systems, etc, can have just shows that you aren't a developer and just assuming. The Ps2 launch games to Resi 4 and GoW 2 look way way way way way more than 5-10% better.

After Final Fantasy 10... nothing looked better on the PS2 to me. it was that unoticable.

It's called Evergrace... Launch RPG. I'd say the end of the ps2's life has been a HUGE upgrade. Care to disagree? And a ton of games look better than final fantasy 10, you would also known this if you bought ps2 games -.-

Now show us a game like Tony Hawks 3 ... yea... showing the worst one you possible can doesnt help your case... or timesplitters, or that 3rd person RPG shooter ( Something Squad? ) cant remember :P

Firstly, Tony Hawk 3 was not a launch game.
Secondly, I think you are talking about X-Squad.
Lastly, every launch game looks terrible compared to the end of the cycle, so you still are just acting blind.

P.s.- I honestly can't fathom why you would choose x-squad or timesplitters as a point maker. Go back and look at all the screenshots of these games and then look at the best the ps2 has to offer. If you still don't see an huge upgrade you are blinded by your love for timesplitters (I loved it then too :D ).

The trailer showed lots of moves similar to both games. All this does is add one to two more elements. It's the same as giving Kratos BOOBS and calling it Heavenly Sword.

Is Capcom's RE5 and RE4 developers the only ones that want to make amazing, flawless games?

For once someone is caring about quality over money and having a certain release date.

All the huge publishers like EA who have a LOT more money then Capcom can't make nearly as good as games.

Now games like NG II and MGS4 are slipping up to be flawed games. Why can't they give them 1-2 more years?

Would you guys mind having each developer spend 4-5 years on each game? That would probably make video games be on the same page as movies.

How good a game is and how "flawed" it is tends to be a matter of opinion. Although I loved Resi 4, I will never say it was flawless. Resi 5 does look good and I anticipate it greatly. On the same page as movies in what sense? Graphics? Story? please elaborate.

The original game was nothing special. I fell for the hype of how underappreciated and underrated that it was and bought it just to be let down. The lack of anything that sets it apart from other games was just disappointing considering the concept had so much potential. The game was in fact way too easy and the collectables were pointless and not needed to beat the game but merely a tacked on add in to keep you playing to reach 100%. The characters were dull, story was bad and predictable, the comic relief was horrible (the 2 cheerleaders being the best of the worst), the levels were bland and had a been there done that vibe about them (with kudos given to the Milkman level and the test cube level) and lastly, the platforming was often atrocious. If you need me to go more in depth of why this game should not get a sequel and should remain unplayed by the most gamers on this site, feel free to ask.
