I've been playing for about 1.5 hours now...I'm already hooked.

I'd say it's a few things:
1. Nintendo games don't really compete with Xbox or Playstation directly in the way that those two fight each other...they're kind of off in their own unique area.
2. Lack of focus on graphics, so there's no resolution arguments.
3. The family/kid-friendly feel of Nintendo systems.
I'm torn...I really like the box art for the game and would like physical for that reason (plus if I hate it, which is highly unlikely, I can always sell it)...at the same time, I have ~$22 left from an eShop gift card that someone gave me, so I could essentially get the game for $38 if I go digital.
In the end, I'm leaning towards physical since I could always use the eShop money towards Splatoon DLC (if there's any paid DLC), but I haven't made up my mind yet.
I'll probably go that route then. I had a Nyko charger a while back with my Wii, but the batteries did not last as long as I thought they would.
@YearoftheSnake5: I considered that too. Just to make sure I get what you're saying, you're recommending buying rechargeable AA batteries and doing it that way?
I'm looking to get a charging set for 4 wiimotes (with motion plus built in). Can anyone recommend me a good set that includes 2-4 batteries and a charging dock (or something of the sort)?
@Jankarcop:
Where in the OP/thread title did I say hate? There's a big difference (IMO) between hating someone and disliking someone. I worded it that way for a reason.
I don't know about some of you, but I consider there to be a big difference between disliking someone and hating someone.
For me: Justin Bieber...too many reasons to list. If I went with athletes, Alex Rodriguez is a real tool.
