I was on the fence about getting a new console but I am going to wait. With 4K technology on the affordable horizon I may just save the money and upgrade my system to the Broadwell Intel chip and throw another 690 into my computer. By that time the upgrade will cost about 600-800 bucks and Ill have 20X the power of either console.

Games like Titanfall, The Division, BF 4, Watchdogs, and most likely GTA 5 are coming out on the PC anyway. With a simple NVidia app I can stream my games to my TV if I wanted to.

@Sigleaf If only this was the case... sigh. Im actually being serious... I dont like fat people. Fat people disgust me and I especially don't like subsidizing their healthcare.

Force everyone to get an X1 or a PS4 (assuming PS4 eye has the same abilities). It detects if youre too fat. Then others get to see how fat you are and ridicule you until you either A) Commit suicide and stop being a waste of space. Or B) Stop eating and being a lazy fat fvck

@kresimirzvonko You can modify the player counts for servers on the PC, I doubt that you can for X1 and PS4

@neroist @Mr_BillGates LOL... same old BS spewed by Linux elitists. Don't get me wrong, there are a couple flavors of Linux that are "OK" Im a BT user myself.. but there is a reason why people dont use Linux. It's not terribly user friendly and there is no support other than forums ruled by elitist like yourself.

Linux is an open platform which is great for some things, but there isnt anything cohesive about it. You seem to think that dev's are going to just ditch Windows and go to an OS that has always failed to take off.

I like the modular idea behind the steam box, but they need to partner or figure out a way to use a current or supported OS.

@kiryyya I don't think Microsoft would want to put Valve out of business. Valve prides itself on partnerships, if anything I could see Microsoft partnering with them to change their OS to a Windows based system. That way Microsoft would be double dipping in the console market. It would be a good move for all around.

@quaker04 @Chrypt22 @blackothh I disliked GFWL too, but there were only a few games that used it. It wasn't like they forced all games for Window's to use it.

@blackothh Why do some people hate Microsoft so much??? Is it their success? Or maybe you just ride the short-bus...

As much as I like Steam, their little experiment isn't going to be well received. They are going to have to get some major publishers on board and convince people that a Linux gaming system for 1000 bucks is the way to go. Eventually, it may take off but they are going to need some deep pockets and some partnerships. If they were to eventually partner with Microsoft on the OS side it would open more doors for them as far as power and game availability.

Right now, it looks like an expensive Indie gaming box.... no thanks.
