@moriwenne @CharlesBurns Maybe its the reason why some people don't like there characters to look exactly like themselves and that it would freak them out and so they prefer to play as someone else...
Although I don't think video games are at a point yet where you can get your character to look exactly like you, unless you're Kevin Spacey in COD MW.
Also the UV effects are increased by movement, and in games you're controlling the movement of yourself. Imagine for a second that someone creates a character that looks exactly like you, like "Kevin Spacey accurate" and then you bump into them online? I'm not sure how I'd feel about that...
I think most games, are about escapism and role-playing no matter the genre. I know most of the games I play, the constant thought it the back of my mind is "What if I was an Elf, a professional racing driver, a criminal etc". People who play as different genders have obviously just taken it one step further.
My Character in Skyrim was a Dark Elf, not because I wanted to be black, but because of the race's attributes and they look cool. I gave him a elf-sounding name based on my real name.
GTA I tried to make my online character look as much like me as possible, because part of the "role-playing" for me in GTA was making myself as much money as possible and buying cool stuff ie. being rich. Which is something I aspire to in real life.
I have noticed in online "lets play" videos that a lot of people don't really care what their character looks like, where I try and make my own as representative of myself as possible.
@59Hertz Ten years from now PS4 games will be much better than the PS4 games being released today, and I'm sure PC exclusives will be even better.
What I'm saying is, there is no way that your top of the line PC today is going to be able to play the most graphic intensive PC game released ten years from now without you having to upgrade it.
I don't disagree, PC's will always be more powerful, but they'll also always be more expensive. So the argument about which is "better" depends on what you want.
Fanboyism comes from people who can't deal with the fact that there are people who don't like the same things they like, and it stems from a lack of self esteem.
