@q-bert39 Your analogy would be far less stupid if this were a Mini Putt Putt site. But it's not. This is a gaming site that reports gaming news, and this is gaming news.

I understand Capcom hasn't exactly had the best rack record when regarding DLC, but all the people who are saying that they changed the on disc DLC to be free after intending to charge for it... that's not how the business world works.

If they were going to charge for it, they would STILL BE charging for it. Capcom wouldn't just cut out projected profits because some dudes on the internet hacked their disc and found some incomplete DLC files on it. More importantly, if the DLC were to be charged, that generally means those DLC components were allotted additional parts of the budget that would be made up for through sales of said DLC. You don't just decide to not sell it.

Capcom intended this DLC to be free from the get-go. I understand people's skeptical nature regarding this statement, because of their history, but to me, it makes sense that it was going to be free from the start.

I can't fault the devs for giving the fans what they want.

And I can't fault the fans for asking the devs for something they wanted.

But something about this whole scenario just feels... wrong.

Moore says F2P is the future. After pretty much the entire gaming community disagrees with him, his response? "You guys just DON'T UNDERSTAAAAAND!"

Yeah, okay. We're the ones who don't understand. There's no chance that YOU'RE wrong. It's all our fault for not understanding your brilliant plan for the future of gaming.

So, there's not going to be anything interesting for the PS3 for the rest of the year.

Gotcha.

$20? Skullgirls is $15... and it's a completely original fighting game. Nice try, Capcom.

People are talking like Epic is the big bad man here, trying to shut down smaller companies and only caring about itself. However, Silicon Knights was found GUILTY of ATTEMPTED THEFT of Epic's property. Of course Epic is going to retaliate and defend themselves.

It's not about big company vs little company here, it's about one party trying to steal from another party. Which SK was found guilty of. It sucks that they're probably going to be shut down and a handful of innocent people will be losing jobs, but crime never pays, as they say.

Didn't this same kind of trash talk happen with MW3? Didn't higher ups at EA say that Battlefield 3 was going to take a large % of the market share away from CoD? How'd that turn out for them? Seriously, just stop trying to belittle other companies' obviously successful business practices and focus on what you CAN do - make video games.
