I don't mind violence and sex in my games, as long as they are done in a meaningful, artful manner. When you get to the point where you are just going over the top and having violence for the sake of violence then it's not ok with me. You know, like being able to jump into the air and tear the wings off that harpy and then slash the sucker while it writhes in pain and bleeds to death on the ground, or chainsaw your enemy in half, or being able to gouge out your enemies eyes and cut, or decapitate them with scissors, or rape them, or stab them to death with dirty needles, or torture them. I'm talking about games like Postal, Gears of War, Manhunt and God of War (yes God of War fanbois, put down your knives and pitchforks and torches, please) here. These titles go over the top and allow you to do insanely awful violent things to your enemies, which is just unnecessary and uncalled for. They aren't smart. They aren't funny, and they aren't artful. They are gratuitus and unnecessary.

By playing solo I assume you mean just with henches, because the game is impossible to play through with just your character and nothing else. There is no one build to rule them all, but there are several good builds, most of which have already been mentioned: assassin/elementalist, 55hp monk, warrior/monk, critical barrage assassin, hex master (mesmer/necro), elemental/ necro, minion master (monk/necro, or necro/monk), dervish/assassin, dervish/elementalist, I could go on. You really need to experient with trial and error to find what works for you.

Well, since hydras are from Starcraft my guess is it's Starcraft related, but then again it could be anything since all development companies have multiple projects going on all the time that no one outside of them knows about. Most of those projects never see an announcement, or the light of day anyway. I'd say just sit tight and wait for them to tell us. Blizz already has another WOW expansion on the way and Starcraft 2. That should be plenty to appease the hordes of rabbit fans.

There is a point in the character creation process where it will ask you for a world pass. I think a box pops up after you name your character, or it's when you name your character. You just type the number for the world pass into that box and go from there. I'm sorry I can't be more specific. It's been forever since I played FFXI and even longer since I have gone through the character creation process for that game, since character creation is really a one time event.

This probably would have worked better as a blog entry, as opposed to a forum post, but whatever. I agree with you. I am excited by how dev's are spicing things up today, and you are right, it's been a long time coming. I was a child of the 80's and I miss those days. There was fierce competition and a lot of fresh innovative things back then. It was great, and I wish I could get the feelings it evoked in me then to be evoked in me now when I play todays game. That desire to get that feeling back is probably what keeps me gaming, and it doesn't come from pretty graphics. It comes from gameplay.

I had a copy pre ordered at GameStopand one of the jerk clerks sold my copy and all the copies they had. Luckily I got to talk to the manager today and said he was going to give me a discount for all the trouble caused by the clerk who screwed me over.staindcoldlp

That's why I don't preorder any more, and is one of the main reasons I no longer do business with gamestop. They did that to me on several of my preorder games end of last year/beginning of this year. At least they are giving you a discount. I didn't even get that. When the second shipment came in they said I had to pay full price despite putting the money down to reserve it. Nothin' but a bunch of crooks I tell ya.
