@nurnberg: I might have missed those, unless you're you referring too the costume packs? I really don't mind aesthetic addons, but when it's crap like "Get Double XP for 5 hours for $2.99" or "Get this this pack of godlike weapons and armor for $20" (like Halo 5 did) that's when microtransactions can ruin a game.
Awesome, with so many games going pay-to-win these days and even in big franchises like Halo 5, it's refreshing to see a developer that's maintaining their integrity by not giving advantages to those that dish out money.
I hadn't heard much about this game previously, but will definitely keep an eye on it now.
@dexda: Haha, well yes compared to Diablo, all other games loot pales in comparison. I spend as much time in town selling loot as I do actually killing stuff in D3.
I usually agree with Gamespot for the most part, but I totally disagree with all of their gripes here.
1. AI - I felt the AI is maybe the best I've ever seen in a game. They react according to the situation they're in, which I've never seen before. If they're being overwhelmed, they'll retreat and find cover and take more of a defensive stance. If they have the upper hand, they'll attempt to surround you and rush in with shotguns or melee attackers. I was very imrpessed, it made me feel like me and my group had to constantly adapt our strategies.
2. Feeling Underpowered - I'm really not sure why you felt underpowered. Were you playing solo most of the time? I was always playing with 3 other people, and using our abilities together, the synergy made us feel truly powerful. I'm getting headshots with a marksman Rifle for 700k now and even on challenging mode missions, I don't feel underpowered. I'd reco that you try taking Smart Cover with the damage perk - if you get enough skill power you can have it up all the time. Combine that with the Pulse that adds damage, crit hit and crit chance, and you can output some mega damage. Should alleviate your underpowered problem hopefully.
3. Loot and XP Stinginess - You can go into the dark zone and 20 minutes later extract 9 epics and maybe a legendary if you're lucky. It took me 6 days to get 100% Legendary/Yellow weapons and gear, I honestly thought they were way too liberal with dishing out the loot. XP, same issue, I hit level 30 in 3 days, I wish it had taken a bit longer. Like 3 or 4 times as long would have been nice. So really don't think they were stingy in that regard at all.
4. Side Missions Repetitive - Okay sure, that honestly can be said about any MMO though. I suppose that's not a valid reason for it be acceptable, but at the same time, it's been ignored by Gamespot in other MMO reviews.
2. No Man's Sky as most anticipated game... come on. That's bs. Look at any game sites coverage, there's barely any. It also doesn't even look that good. Division, along with any other game in that list deserves this title more.
3. Halo 5 - shouldn't be on that list. It was pay-to-win garbage.
4. This is the thing I have the biggest problem with. Lara Croft Go......... beat Monster Hunter 4. That's the biggest joke I've ever heard. LCG is just another tablet game you get tired of after 20 minutes. MH4 is a masterpiece that you can sink hundreds of hours in. Ridiculous.
Please get rid of that really intrusive giant red caption box on the video... With the letterboxing+giant red caption box, I feel like I'm seeing like 30% of the picture.
I already stopped playing this game because it's the biggest pay-to-win sham since Battlefield: Heroes. But it's sad to hear that the money people spend isn't going towards developing new content, but to a team of basement virgins that will win the Halo World Championship.
