Will this end up a train wreck, like Cyberpunk 2077 anyway? Fanboy perspectives prevent seeing the big picture. If I owned a Playstation, I'd boycott that publisher. Same thing if an XBOX title came out and the publisher pulled that on our base. Quibbling about this is actually probably helping, as I imagine publishers do review their customers "Opinion Dens", like this.

Make threats like "I'm jumping to Microsoft!/Nintendo"! Those kind of comments tend to get people's attention. Of course, the Microsoft fanboys (how come I never hear from the Nintendo crowd?) will pounce on this.

Boycott this title. Playstation fans are the same as Microsoft fans, we want the best deal. This is the best way to achieve that goal - Organize ( can you say AMC theater stock?) and lobby for what is fair!

Horse Feather Alert!!! Mr. Hines touched on a wildly common theme: "I just don't know". Very, very few people DO know but there's a simple way to extrapolate.

A businesses' sole reason for existence is to generate revenue.

I perceive the PS5 will continue to have access to almost ALL of Bethesda's new content. You don't buy a company to LOSE money!

It is beyond me, how any console devoid of worthy next generation games, commands such mark ups. I prefer to sit this out, until the scalper situation is dealt with appropriately. If that means not purchasing a Series X, so be it. Much ado about nothing, IMO.

I would have preferred an offering similar to Stranger's Wrath - The best of the Oddworld series IMO.

I have to wonder whether Justin was having a bad day or if Gamespot didn't receive enough (or any) advertising tribute? I will wait for more player reviews to determine.

It boggles my mind, how video games have overtaken and left movies in their dust. The sheer volume of money being pushed to developers is a strong indication the gap will only widen.

There's a HUGE difference between sitting and simply absorbing content and being able to be a PART of a game. Multiplayer only enhances the disparity.

For me it's not the bugs, I'm someone who can look past bugs if the game draws me in. But no, it's the lack of player <-> world agency. One of the greatest strengths of Witcher 3 was it's handcrafted cinematic cutscenes, world building, atmosphere, character depth and Geralt's agency in EVERYTHING that happens. Cyberpunk barely has any of that and what it does have is of such inconsistent quality.

Like the initial warning sign that made me think, "oh, this might actually be bad" was within the first 3 hours, the game does such a poor job at introducing you to the world, both in gameplay and in narration. I'm driving around getting used to things and seemingly randomly people would call V and say they have work, and I'd be like, "Who are you and why are you calling me?" Even GTA, which isn't an RPG, introduces the character and it's story/quest givers in organic ways. There's pacing and a gradual introduction to new game mechanics and complexity. Cyberpunk has none of that.

One of the other major problems with the game is the main protagonist. V. He (or she) is so utterly unappealing, there is nothing different between him and every other psychopathic resident of Night City. He doesn't enter the City with any new perspective, different opinion, greater sense of morality or backstory that changes how he (the player) approaches events. He's just another unlikable POS in a city swimming with them. Now compare that with Geralt in Witcher. You know who he is, what he's about and why he's there doing the things he's doing. You understand him, his goals, his morals, his intentions etc. and it works perfectly when he crosses things that are clearly abhorrently awful. V on the otherhand doesn't give a **** about anything, his world view is so pathetically shallow that I literally couldn't care less about him. His ONLY saving grace is when Keanu Reeves comes into his life and it's not because Johnny Silverhand is anything different from any other character, he's just the same POS as V and everyone else. Instead it's Keanu Reeves himself that makes it interesting because, well, it's Keanu.

The whole game is shallow. Completely and totally shallow. And the moments when characters try to be something deeper, it doesn't work because of the actions they take in the game making them huge hypocrites. There is nothing likeable about any of them beyond their appearance.

I'm still shocked that the same developers who made Witcher 3, one of the most indepth, well written and consistently top quality RPGs, made this game. I can't believe it. The game needed at least another year of core world and gameplay development.

I feel the same way about the Grand Theft Auto franchise. Good points!

I was really excited when this review turned up in my search results because I've been wondering how this game is playing since it's buggy release, but the reviewer's tone and style really turned me off and I had trouble sticking through it.

What's with the forced "used car salesman" voice? The tone of this "review" made me double check to see if I hadn't wandered into TikTok.

Took almost 3 minutes to see anything substantial. We didn't need to hear about your love for physical media or your trip to the park. We also didn't need you to dwell on each and every glitch for lulz. We get it. The purse was clipped, the NPC went through the elevator, etc. It's good to know those issues are still there, but move on. That's all anyone has said about this game since it released. A quick search on YouTube would have yielded thousands of clips just like that.

Very little commentary of actual use to anyone over the age of 12.

I get what your consternation is about but I constantly remind myself, these are just regular people. We enjoy (or not) their production with very little tangible detraction from our lives. They get their revenue from advertising. I appreciate the information, regardless of how the performer (yes, it's a performance) delivers it. Being in my second childhood - Do I qualify as a 12 year-old - That'd be AWESOME!!!
