@carlo235

What good would that do?

There's no morality in changing one empire for another..

@chibi-acer

I was thinking the same thing.

I'm not certain if I'll eventually buy a Vita or not, but either way I wish it the best.

It's not fair to those who bought it if it ends up flopping. Also, it makes for a larger, more varied game industry as a whole.

Plus, the 3DS wasn't doin' so hot when it first launched, and look at it now.

@DrRockso87 There was never really a Team Silent. The only thing the first four Silent Hill titles have in common is that they were all developed internally by Konami now they're developed externally by the lowest bidder.

Also, Masahiro Ito was involved with the art direction in the first 4 titles as well as Akira Yamaoka with the sound design.

According to Yamaoka Silent Hill was their attempt "at making classic American horror through a Japanese filter".

Without this "Japanese filter" all you have is a bunch of Western horror games with the name Silent Hill slapped on the front of the box.

@MaloVolpe Silent Hill 4 was a bit of a misstep but I think it's kind of an exaggeration to say that it was worse than any of the outsourced Silent Hill games.

I would say it's the worst of the best, the best being 1,2,3, and 4 in last place. Externally developed ones don't even count.

@BeateDrabing I disagree. I believe the franchise itself is not as marketable as it used to be because Konami has completely destroyed the Silent Hill brand by outsourcing every single title in the series from the past five years to the lowest bidder instead of developing them internally.

As you can see the Metal Gear brand gets preferential treatment at Konami. Metal Gear games are always made internally and when they're not they're outsourced to top quality devs with peerless reputations like Platinum on the other hand you have Silent Hill being outsourced to an Eastern European scrappy start-up studio. Konami did this to themselves.

@GunBladeHero

Yes, that is in fact Sarah Bryant from Virtua Fighter.

Her and Akira's presence in the game has all but confirmed my purchase.

(I think Pai may also end up in the game.. Just you wait)

@roguebot Very cool and that is true. You're preaching choir.

I know I have Irish, Spanish(European not to be confused with the term "Hispanic", used mostly for Native Americans here in the States), and Galician ancestors in this country dating at least as far back as the 18th century. I also have my suspicions about some German ancestry. This is the US after all and most whites are of German descent whether they know it or not.

I know my Spanish side participated in the American Revolution in the invasion of the loyalist British Florida colony while allied to the Patriots.

But yeah, it's more than a bit misleading when you refer to British subjects as if they were British people. That's an important distinction that must be made when talking about this time period.

During the Revolution Louisiana belonged to Spain. That would be like referring to all European settlers there as Spanish just because they were all Spanish subjects.

@AttroPheed

I admit I lol'd.

Keep in mind that this isn't the only photo available of the new model, though.

Tecnoblog has more photos that may change yours and many others' minds.
