the real silent hill games were silent hill 1,2,3 and maybe 4. the game actually dies after that,which is when the konami stopped developing it and gave to other studios. give the game back to its original developers and let konami develop it. silent hill is(was) a very good game but i don't see any point in just going on with the series.
lower the new game price and i can guarantee there would be more first hand sales.60$ is really expensive. And when i buy a game it is my property like a car or a house,and if i wish i can sell it.Charging people for second hand games is an attack on the right to own property and a financial damage to me and the buyer.
@PenguinIzzy As others have mentioned this numerous time,cheating in online games has nothing to do with Hotz,and the problem can easily be solved by the developers,they just are lazy to write a few line of codes and updating their games!In any way cheating is the result of poor security on the game developer or publisher side,so don't blame Hotz for that! Btw,i don't think there is anything wrong with sharing the result of your work with others,even if billions of people downloaded the hack for PS3,there is NOTHING WRONG! As the hack open your system for you to use it as you please,is it bad if you can make a backup of the games you own?is it bad if you can install linux on it? or homebrew? Even if this hack is used by some for piracy,you should take note that this hack does not damage the games sales as Sony is exaggerating,how many people in the tens of millions of people who own PS3 have ever heard o this hack or use it? And moreover it is not an argument against Hotz. And by the way how many who use the hack for piracy,would buy the games at the first place? Sony is making a mess out of this,but does Sony think they can get away with all that?Removing OtherOS/Closing a core of the CPU/Dropping PS2 compatibilty while they have advertised for it?Going after people who just opened the system which i own to be really mine?they won't get away. There we'll be backlash most certainly!
i think the effect of piracy is exaggerated,of any business there is profit and there is loss,piracy is the loss of electronic content like games. And i stand by my word that if companies want to counter piracy they should reduce the prices of the games,make better games and try to be costumer friendly!
Part 2: The companies are becoming more abusive day by day,and find ways to restrict the consumers as much as they can and steal their money.When there is discontent among consumers one of the results will be piracy,and as i told earlier if they want to solve the piracy issue they should lower the game prices and correct their business model into a better moral way and stop abusing the consumers,maybe then people be more willing to pay the money they have hardly earned to buy a game!
@rogue81 First i don't see anything wrong with Hotz posting the result of his works on the Internet,he shared his work with the world and opened the system for people to use it the way they like it,HE DIDN'T SAY HOW TO USE IT,its completely up to people how do they use it,so i don't see any wrongdoing on Hotz side in this,even if one of the outcomes of his work can be piracy! Piracy does affect the companies but you should note that its extent maybe exaggerated,every downloaded game doesn't mean a lost sale,as there are many people who may buy the game even if they pirate it or the people who would never buy the game whether they could pirate it or not,so a downloaded game is not a lost sale! And the heinous acts i talk about companies are like: Removing OtherOS by Sony,dropping the promised PS2 emulation on PS3,locking the content of the game which is on the disc and asking for money to unlock them as DLC,selling crap DLCs,charging an extra online fee for a pre-owned/used game(when you did already pay for XboxLive for example),these are just few examples.
And want to fight piracy? Lower the game prices! Make better games! and stop cheating people! you think people like to pay 60$ for a game and then have to pay 10$-20$ or more for the content which could be included in the game in the first place?some of them are even on the game discand they are locked! they intentionally take out a few missions out of the game so they can sell it later to us! Isn't this theft????? Want to solve the piracy problem? lower the game prices and stop being b*tches!
Thank you Hotz,We support you! What you have done gave us the ability to use what we have paid for and it is our OWN! Thank you SOOOO MUCH! And the people who say he broke the law should know he HADN'T break any law,and ToS means absolutely nothing and Sony can not prosecute someone on behalf of that! Now i have the option to install the games i own to HDD so i can save my PS3 lens! I can run homebrew ! And to all people who defend the corporations and support their heinous acts i would say GET LOST!
We support you Hotz! He has done nothing wrong,he just opened the doors to the powerful ps3 system,the piracy has nothing to do with him,it is up to people how to use this hack. One can use a knife to cut bread,one can use it to kill someone,the knife-maker should not be blamed if a knife is used for murder!
