You need to have a good airflow set up in your case. Heat rises. A card without a backplate/plate in general is going to increase the ambient temperature in the case quite a bit.

Ya, I believe the green flashes only occur if you have hardware acceleration enabled for videos - a bug that occurs sometimes. I don't get the green flashes, ever, if I turn off hardware acceleration.
Meh, wasn't planning on getting this game for single-player anyways. At best, once i've finished unlocking important engineer/medic/tank upgrades I will be playing single-player with 4 player coop online.
