watchdogs not being released hurts sony a bit more than microsoft. As outside of killzone, i don't think sony has a first party game anyone cares about coming out before next year. However, i dont see anyone who pre-ordered either console not getting one just because of watchdogs not coming out.

Blu ray also uses microsoft technology. They still get paid for every blu ray player owned.

From what they have shown, its pretty hard to tell if the UI is useable or is just plain bad. I don't know how anyone could realistically say this is good or bad from what they have shown here.

Dedicated servers, cloud computing support in gaming, just to name a couple features that are being rolled that weren't previously available with any console.

although it may not work as well as a kinect. You can say what you will about the kinect but its a tested product people know works.

Until gaikai comes, their are no guarantees. They haven't said how it works, what functionality its guaranteed to provide what the mechanics are behind it. We dont know what its launching with, and what features are being "rolled out" at a later date. Until their is more then smoke and mirrors showed gaikai may never come.

You missed the point about online connectivity. Sony from the start saying its not required and mircrosoft requiring it from the start are moot as most the games coming out require it. So even if you live in an area with no internet you wont be able to play most games without an internet connection.

what you call refinement on sony's part most people call pretty much outright copying.

Unfortunately, at some point you have to commit to a plan and show you have some forward thinking. They haven't really promised anything other than it plays used games and doesn't require online connectivity but most games require online connectivity this generation as their is the blended multiplayer and single player experience so thats really a hollow promise.

Gaikai isnt even launching with the console and may never come. So far their entire business strategy has been wait and copy.

You can say what you will about microsoft, but i give them credit for going all in for better or worse.

Sony has been doing alot of me too this generation. When xbox comes out with a feature they are quick to copy. When microsoft got bad press for announcing there polices first they were quick to change their policies. Microsoft has tv support, sony ads tv support via time warner cable companies. xbox has pay services, sony adds pay services.

I still can't feel that its a mistake not to have the playstation camera bundled with the system. As that peripheral is pretty much a guaranteed failure otherwise. As no one will support it without everyone adopting and everyone wont buy it.

This isn't stopping me from buying both systems. I just wish sony would do something original for their console.

I'm optimistic about this game. Bioware is still a great company but their only real misstep was dragon age 2. Mass Effect 3 may have a bad ending but everything upto that point was incredibly fun. Even Dragon Age 2 had its moments where it was incredibly fun.

Overall, if they are listening to feedback and making the game better than what it was. Along with, actually fullfiling the promises and ideals they have set out it would be hard to really fault them. They put out a bad product, they admitted as much and seem to be on the road to recovery. Can't really ask for much more then that
