Considering Ubisoft is trying to maintain the late October launch window of Assassin's Creed games, on new hardware no less, "too much work" seems like a passable--albeit weak-- excuse. Especially if they want to get a female character right, as opposed to a token one to satiate the masses.

The next iteration in the series, however, should have no such excuse. An actual reason, as opposed to a half-hearted excuse, should be used in lieu.

Innovation? Hardly. Battlefield had persistent stat tracking and upgrades well before Call of Duty did.
