"We have a product for people who aren't able to get some form of connectivity; it's call an Xbox 360." Wow. Not exactly diplomatic. As a military member, I can say that the issues mentioned in this article are part of why I have decided not to buy an Xbox One. I really wanted to love the system but Microsoft made too many wrong choices with it.
I'd have a lot more respect for Microsoft if they called it like it is and just said "The mandatory 24 hour connection requirement is an anti-piracy measure, plain and simple." But instead they try to make it sound like a customer-friendly feature? That's an insult to my intelligence.
Just as a side note, my self-built gaming rig runs Windows 8 and I've never had any compatibility issues with any Windows 7 software or games. It's awesome. And future proof. "Windows 7 is future proof!!!" you say? Apparently not. Have you heard of Halo: Spartan Assault? (Rhetorical question) This is one small step in the direction of MS leaving Windows 7 behind ;)
