They both had their pros and cons. The main area that the Genesis had an advantage was it's processor speed (it's processor was 7.68MHz compared to SNES' 3.58 MHz). People who were into sports games preferred the Genesis due to this fact and that Sega made some great Sports games as well. Those who owned both could easily see that the Super Nintendo was ahead in graphics and sound. There is no way you could get a game like Donkey Kong Country on the Genesis. The Genesis only had 512 colors which explains why purple was used too often while the SNES had 32,768 colors to choose from. The audio on the Genesis, while better than the 8-bit NES, could not produce stereo sound found in games like Super Star Wars, Hook, Batman Returns, Super Castlevania, or Contra III.

I would advise getting another controller at a thrift store or pawn shop, so you can actually test the wear and tear on the analog controller. My 14 year old N64 controller (bought it at launch) and a black one- both are almost in the same condition they were when purchased. I can't stand seeing the analog controller with no tension or springy buttons. For some reason, this a controller that is easily abused by most.

Wow, you're really making the XBOX 360 sound like a great system. No wonder the XBOX 360 has sold more than the PS3. Every owner has purchased 4 XBOX systems and are still satisfied. Think of the scene where Homer says, "You can treat me like dirt and I'll still kiss your butt and call it ice cream. "It's Wal-Mart's deal of the day online. You get a PS3 DS3 controller with game for $49!! Here's the games to choose from (all greatest hits though, but still):
- GOW collection
- Killzone 2
- Little Big Planet
- Resistance 2
- Infamous
It looks like GOW is different in that you get a Red controller with it. Just passing the info. Remember, it's today only.
I did a search on the forum just to make sure it hasn't been posted. Anyway, Amazon has a deal with Goldeneye where you can get a limited addition Gold Classic Controller with Goldeneye 007 for $69.
Ok, what about Lego Star Wars: Complete Saga. It sold 3.64 Million on the Wii while the XBOX 360 sold 1.64 Million and the PS3 sold 1.29 Million. Lego Harry Potter and Indiana Jones have also sold more on the Wii than the other two as well. These are 3rd Party Games. Lego Indiana Jones and Batman sold more on the XBOX360, and like the Wii's Sports, they were pack-ins with various XBOX360 models.
